We have no way of knowing for sure what he's talking about, but it sounds like he's decided to make a career of the military. There are programs available that provide exactly what he says - but these guys are contracted to continue service in the armed forces in exchange for their education. A friend of mine got his dental school paid for under that agreement, and came out as an officer. However, he was obligated to be an Army dentist for something like four years after he graduated. There may be similar deals available from defense contractors and private companies as well.

The differense is the guy in the pic is willing to work for it.The protesters think the government shoiuld just give it to them because they were born.

My family and I are going through the same thing and when someone spews what they know nothing about they have no clue how close they come sometimes.Maybe its because their daddy did not hug them enough when they were a kid.

Im sure its not needed but tell your sons this american, says thank you.:)

tell your daddy he was mean not to hug you enough when you were a kid .

what you said can be used both ways

Brisco thinks it's only Turtle's opinion that those in the military are serving only to benefit those in power. If that's not the case, Brisco, then why are we the world's police? Why are we at the beck and call of the UN? And why aren't OUR troops on OUR southern border?

I've served 5 years in the Corps. I've questioned a lot of things in my mind, during that time. I don't know all the answers, and I'm not claiming to. But there is a huge question mark about what's going on/what has gone on in the past with our military. Who is ultimately pulling the strings when we go to war? Who are the warmongers?

When I was in the Gulf War, I heard about Saddam claiming our ambassador set him up. I didn't want to believe it. Now I do. Saddam was easy to go to war with. He was hated throughout the region, and by his own people. Look at how many countries went to war. Even France! Little countries, big countries, all ganged up because war means good times back home. We had a huge boom during and after the war. But who benefited most from the conflict? Ask yourself that. We spent a LOT of money on that war. Who got all that money/credit? Ask yourself that. Who benefited from oil for food? Ask yourself that. And who benefited from the Gulf War Syndrome that a lot of good men got? That one I still don't know the answer to. But I know it wasn't worth the cost.

""IMO, he should recuse himself as a "Moderator" in this thread and let another Moderator handle everything else that comes forth. By his own admission, his "moderating" status is no longer valued here........""

so since he is a Moderator he is not aloud to have a opinion

so far this has turned in to a KKK meeting . and like what is going on in Penn State College

and as for Briscos picture .he posted in his last post . how many have flat feet , and anything else that will not allow them in the Military . so those unable to join the military dont desreve to have a life .

My Father is a Vietnam Vet also . but he never left the USA .

just like my son he is the best at playing sports but the coach doesnt play him .so i fight with the coach all the time BECAUSE MY SON IS THE BEST i even fight with anybody who says anything bad about my son . BECAUSE MY SON IS THE BEST

like when parents get a call their little angel was cought cheating , steeling, said bad things to others .

yep go to the Service for 4 years and get your college paid for . how do the ones with flat feet get their college paid for .

Hawk, that is not what the conversation is about. It is about RLENT painting the Military with a broad brush.

Because the military is a government entity, and can be painted with a broad brush. What I'm getting from RLENT's post is about the military itself... not so much the troops individually. Go back to the first page and read his response to me. It goes a way to clear things up.

no it is about people not wanting to think . not wanting to see the truth.
it is about people telling others to look at things from the other side of the fence when they wont do it them selfs .

and like i said it is just like a KKK meeting

i am not on rlents side or on briscos side . when i say that

Nice assumption, Tbub.
...... not to mention a huge generality  .... ie. "the protestors" ..... as if they - or the military - were some sort of completely monolithic entity and all the same .....

Of course, they are not - either of them.
