Some times there will be tire marks or ruts, that you can use to help judge your position, when backing into a dock.

This was a parking lot so open and so empty of debris or other trucks and the Tarmac itself was flat and smooth. Probably couldn't have been any better of a situation and I did awful. I did a much better job at a much tighter busier dock on a rainy day

You will get better at backing into docks. Like most everything, the more you do it the better you will get.

That's a cool story although I have no idea what anything about the truck meant besides it being a Mack lol. My trainer said I didn't suck and I didn't fail I just am inexperienced and every single driver on the road has did the same thing I did this morning. He said only thing I can do it keep backing and improving

Good your next experience......having to jackknife in and put BOTH landing gear on a steel strip in ground 12" wide 7' wide....!! LOL I hope them kind of places are extinct now....

Dropped in Amana ia and now at Bandanas BBQ for dinner. Had a call earlier that was picking up in Mason city ia to New Berlin wi for Monday morning. Not enough time to get back home for Mon. afternoon dr. appt and not enough money to make me stay out til then.

That was the dock they loaded us from. That looked like it used to be the ramp for fork lifts to go in a building but that building was long gone. The forklift guy just loaded us up with his companies stuff

My trainer said in his 5 years with averitt he'd never seen anything like that place
