This is only for the left side of the fourm. Please "Right" let the "Left" answer.

I have a need to know:
What good things has Obama done for us? All I ever hear is the bad things he has done then the "Left" coming to defend him with Bush this Bush that. If you can, tell me what good things he has done and why you think it's good. This is your homework assignment for today. Rightees, let them answer

What did cheaney leave him when he and his side kick left but a mess to try to clean up. The ecomony in a mess a war that is almost impossible to get out of. the only thing left to do is try sure the man is not going to every right. Did the last two do every thing right far from it but we give them eight years to get it right. See were we are now.
I'm a independent and I know if both sides do not get a little closer to the middle we are going to be in a mess for a long time.

All have a good day we wish for better times!

A mighty welcome to the forum my good man Mr egg. We are are out numbered here, for sure out gunned ,but we have one thing going for us.Truth.

Glad your here, don't be phased out by the extremism and join in the fray when you have time. I made a big mistake and refered to Mr. Richard Cheney as some body part or another. It's OK to get anti Islam and race bait all you want, but Mr. Richard C is off limits. He's some kind of a sacred cow to the right side. Figures.

Hey Andy, isn't the same thing goes for Biden, Cheny wasn't the open bigot like Biden is and when people bring up the point that he has a racist WASP attitude about minorities, they are shut down by his defenders - are you one of his defenders?

The truth is... and I wasn't meant to be funny (but it is), Obama has done nothing different or great yet.. other than giving permission to plant a garden.

I'd like to start off by saying I'm not "Left" or "Right" I am for common sense approach to politics. I really don't see a whole lot of the "Left" coming to defend Obama with "Bush this Bush that". I almost didn't post anything because your post came across a bit arrogant. Thank you for giving us permission to answer without the "Right" chiming in. Thanks teacher for giving us a "homework" assignment. You are so kind.

I would also like to say, I think this question is being posed a bit to soon but the following are what I feel to be accomplishments and for the greater good for the American people and the World.

1. Most importantly he became our President of this United States of America.

The following is an excerpt from ABC News, Political Punch that I thought put his campaign in perspective.

He beat the premiere Democratic machine, a former First Lady who remains popular with Democrats and is married to the most popular Democrat (among Democrats) in the US.

He beat her among women.

He beat John Edwards in union households.

He won among Democrats who said Iraq, Pakistan, health care, or the economy were the most important issues facing America -- despite Clinton attacks directly on those subjects.

Despite claims by rivals that he only appealed to effete elitists, he won every income bracket but one -- $15,000-$30,000 -- which he tied with Clinton.

It was an astounding achievement.

And, by the way, he's a black man with the middle name Hussein, and he did this in a state that's overwhelmingly white and Christian.

2. Biggest infrastructure investment since the interstate highway system in the 1950's.

3. The biggest investment in education in a generation. Including fixing the No Child Left Behind act.

4. Restoring our reputation world wide.

5. Addressing the home foreclosure crisis.

6. Introduced the Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Federal Spending Act of 2008.

7. Boosted U.S. Troops in Afghanistan to stabilize the region.

That is just a handfull of things I could come up with. I put this together rather quickly, I haven't had time to be on the computer today but I'm sure some can add to what I've started.

Mr. steady I did not bash Mr. Bush I live in Florida I like the Bush's I voted for there father and his son the first time. BUT IF I WOULD HAD DONE MY HOMEWORK ON MR. chaney I WOULD NOT HAVE VOTED FOR Mr. Bush the first time. So you can read between the lines on that one! You have to make up your own mind on what he is doing right or wrong. I make my on mind up on what he has done right or wrong after I have seen his performance for a period of time. In that position a little over four months is not near enough time. I'm not here to take sides like I said I'm in the middle. I just want to see this country to stand for INDEPENDCE AND DEMOCRACY as it always should be.

GOD BLESS ALL!

1. Most importantly he became our President of this United States of America.

So apparently he had a lot of help and said a lot of lies to get there. For the first time in our history we had two like people running.

Yea, with the help of ABC and the rest of the media, they ignored Hillary to make the playing field bias towards him, they even named him the nominee before he was. The only person that could have won was Obama.

And, by the way, he's a black man with the middle name Hussein, and he did this in a state that's overwhelmingly white and Christian.

Always with the race. Shows the level of thought - who cares if he's half black, he is a man isn't he?

2. Biggest infrastructure investment since the interstate highway system in the 1950's.

Congress did that.

3. The biggest investment in education in a generation. Including fixing the No Child Left Behind act.

Congress did that too and it was done to pay back the teachers unions. You do forget that he is against vouchers for the kids in DC, which many of kids actually depended on for that higher quality of education to succeed but again he forgets his own claim of helping the children succeed like he did (a bit elitist if you think about it). Investments mean nothing, there is no quality public education with unions and inflated administration staffs.

4. Restoring our reputation world wide.

You are joking, the last I heard the Muslim people outside the middle east are kind of upset with him and it has taken our reputation down a bit in their eyes. Beside that who actually counts, the people in Europe who hate the country anyway or us?

You do know that our reputation has been tarnished by our press more than our government leaders?

5. Addressing the home foreclosure crisis.

How did he do this? I tried to get help with my mortgage, I needed a suspension of payments for three months to catch up and thanks to him, I could not even get the mortage company to listen. I had to get close to forclosure to get to talk to someone who wasn't in India to explain to me what can and can't be done. He isn't helping with the people who didn't buy houses on traditional mortgages, but people who were greedy and selfish in the first place.

6. Introduced the Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Federal Spending Act of 2008.

So, introducing and signing are two different things. The last time i read, this didn't get passed at all. The funny thing is that his administration doesn't disclose costs like the last administration does and we have to deal with the secrecy in the administrations departments, so much for transparency. Or is the term "transparency" being mis-used, it could mean invisible to us.

7. Boosted U.S. Troops in Afghanistan to stabilize the region.

Oh boy looky there, he approved what was planned back in October and let it happen. What happened to his campaign promise of returning the troops home?

Hurray! Proves our ppl are bigger dolts than anyone imagined.

2. Biggest infrastructure investment since the interstate highway system in the 1950's.

Way to keep the construction lobbies and their illegal employees in work. Did anyone see any construction jobs in the want ads?

3. The biggest investment in education in a generation. Including fixing the No Child Left Behind act.

Typical liberal response to failing programs... throw money at it.

4. Kissing arse world wide.

Had to fix that for you. ;)

5. Addressing the home foreclosure crisis.

After helping cause it. Notice there is no more talk about that? Brushed under da rug.

6. Introduced the Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Federal Spending Act of 2008.

Now there's a contradiction in terms, if I ever heard one!

7. Boosted U.S. Troops in Afghanistan to stabilize the region.

But he still hasn't caught bin Laden like he promised.

That is just a handfull of things I could come up with. I put this together rather quickly, I haven't had time to be on the computer today but I'm sure some can add to what I've started.

Gotta give you credit... keep trying. :)

OK so i forgot the smiley... no problem Rick...

The thing is a lot of what I'm hearing is not coming from the right but the left. a lot of people are becoming disillusioned with Obama not moving fast enough for them and it is looking like there will be a fight on some of these 'issues' he is trying to tackle.

I had to listen to rush today, he was making a comment that I heard a few days ago with Randy rhodes so I am thinking that he is stealling stuff.... from the left....

NO don't insult me like that.

I don't know you very well but really enjoy your opinions on this forum concerning politics. But what I thought was open mindedness made me realize you are one that I won't follow now because of your negative slant of Rush.

I know you could care less but I do care.
