You know what's funny? Brisco talking about Civil War between "Conservatives" and "Liberals" and greg actually responding, telling him why the "Conservatives" wouldn't have the upper hand over "Liberals" in a Civil War here in America.

My "fixation" as you put it, is more about the distribution of mis-information than it is about Beck and Palin. They just so happen to be in the forefront of that particular brand of inforamation. Also, they seem to be highly revered here in the Soapbox, if you haven't noticed.

Here is an interesting comment/observation made within the discussion board I mentioned above.

When it comes to police, I look at the way they dress when doing crowd control at a leftist event vs a tea party.

At leftist rallies they wear riot gear. At tea parties they wear shorts. They have neighbors too and I’m sure they would feel safest leaving their family alone with conservative neighbors.

The issue merits your attention, it's amazing what we see when we slow ourselves down and take the time to observe. I wish more Americans would do that but sadly they tend to pay no attention until the thing lands on their front porch, but I digress. One of the things that got my attention was the $7 1/2 MILLION worth of damage that the union thugs caused to the Wisconsin capital building.....if that had been the tea party that had caused that damage, we'd never hear the end of it from the main stream media.

Now just how do you know that MOST of the hunters are union members? And why do you call them D mn hunters. I am a hunter, not union and don't like being called a D mn hunter.

I hunt with MANY union hunters and NONE of them have deer season in their contract, either in PA or MI. Many PA school districts have no school on first day since few kids are going to be in school.

Not all union members are as brain dead as you think either. A large number of union members are only union because it is REQUIRED to be one to work. Like when I was at Great Lakes Steel and the PA State parks. No options, join or don't work.

Well, maybe he does not get it because you are not totally correct. As I stated, not all union members are so by choice. The "unions" are NOT staffed by 100% "autotrons" There is a LARGE number of union members who do not like what is going on but again, need a job, so they belong as required.

Yes, the largest standing army in the world is the armed citizens of the United States. That IS one of the main reasons for the Second Amendment. MOST firearms owners are NOT deer hunters.

I have to ask, what bureaucrat selected that job for you and told you if you don't take it, you will end up in a reeducation camp?

Outside of feeding your family, which is not the reason I'm asking, I don't understand your defensive position on what I said, you were not the target nor was it intended to trash people who had to join to make ends meet. HOWEVER for those who think they can't live without a union, it is.

I too had to join the union and I didn't give a crap about it, but I also won't defend anyone over it or the union. IT was a choice for me, but I wanted to make the big bucks and that was that.

BUT a lot of the hunters I know are UAW/Teamsters/IBEW workers, they appear on opening day to hunt, so I base my comment on that.

As for the right to work laws, yes our state needs them as much as our country doesn't need to support the unions by paying for the pensions or "lending" money to the auto unions through the companies.

I think our state will not come back until this idea that we all have to share in the sacrifice as our new leader speaks of. Instead I think they, the politicians need to be made to pay for their inability to lead the state, hence making them an unpaid part time legislation with the governor earning a buck a year. UNTIL then, we are going to rank at the bottom of every list and even have countries in Africa like the Sudan be more economically attractive than we can be for a long time.
