Well, I don't have any deep tinkers formula. But, one might be, go get a 3K truck, have a nuther thats eight years old, do 300K this year, an that might be ROI. Think?

That was good lol. ROI stands for "Running Out of INCOME" I really know what it means Dave.

Couldn't you just figure what you could profit with the investment you are making and call that your ROI? If that's the case wouldn't the formula be something like profit-investment= return on investment?

or

revenues-expenses = profits-investment= roi

We'd all be lucky if this one gets back on point. Good stuff Dave. I'm not an owner, but I empathize.

I like shrimp 'n' butter. But I'd like even more for Phil to put this one to bed. Wait... I think I get it. I think our ROI would be 1000% if Phil would finally understand that ROI is this...

WE HATE ROI CONVERSATION!!!

Did I miss something??? Oh, Colonel... are you still making the homebrew?

How about if we see what the ROI is on a shrimp boat. Then Dave could have Shrimp too. lol

You may be on to something.

Might have to paint "Return on Investment" on the back of that shrimp boat.

On a serious note, there really are two things to consider: Return On Investment and Creature Comforts. Not bad to have some creature comforts in the biz. My next truck will have at least a couple. Gotta make the wife comfy, ya know. But creature comforts subtract from your ROI, THEY DON'T ADD TO IT.

Darn.....another one that gets it.:) It's getting overwhelming.

You're not going to let this rest, are you, DaveKC? That's too bad. Other than deriving satisfaction from taking pot shots and mocking me for raising the question of how to calculate ROI (a question you have yet to answer), what is the point?

Maybe we understand ROI differently. If by ROI you mean the need to make a profit in the expedite business (or any business) I will not disagree. In fact, Diane and happen to be running a very profitable expedite business and have set out to do exactly that.

But if you mean something that can be calculated with a formula for doing so, it remains the case that you have yet to publish the formula here in the Open Forum.

I'm OK knowing that you do not know the formula. I don't know the formuila either. It would just be easier for all of us if you admitted that you do not know how to calculate ROI instead of trying to cloak that fact by mocking me.

I can respond in kind with mockery. How about this? DaveKC, the mocking moderator who does not know how to calcualte the business indicator he says is very important. Do you really want to go down that road? I do not.

Please, Dave, how can we bring this ROI thing to a peaceful and mutually respectful close?

I agree, we should put it to bed. It has been hilarious with a couple dozen emails and PM's on it.
