They asked him to move to Canada after the drop in NY but he was unsure that the mounties would arrest him because he failed to pay a speeding ticket fifteen years ago. I just found that out now.

Then he needs to do some homework to find out how he can pay that ticket.

I got nabbed in ID last year for a NY ticket 15 yrs before. Every check up til then showed nada. Go figure.

Yep he's still in upstate NY and is still number two on the list. Number one is not the first one out either. Two drivers got frustrated and moved up to Rochester that gets one load a day. Panther said the area averaged five loads a day and now they knocked it down to three on the owner website.

wow .. he is still there???? how many days has it been????
i move after 24 hrs.... well i check stats before i do move.....

ok right now im sitting in ........wheeeling west virginiaaaaa ...
yeha...... swaping a load..... with a cargo van.... well the van is taking it from me..... ran out of hours..... ya know wish we could make face experssions on this ..LOL like at the end of our sentances...... lol

I called Panther and complained and they gave $150 dollars to the driver to move to OH. He's gotten three loads in the past 24 hours. We wasted two point five days this week because he should have moved earlier. We are new at the business and it's a learning process. Next time he is going to ask for a paid move whenever he is on the east coast. He's lucky enough to get home this week because he has a double stop shippment that will take him within sixty miles of home. It seems to be dead on weekends.

Eric, don't be stewpid an ask for a freebee EVERYTIME, it'll get to be like a broken record. And it'll be shut off. HOME, is no good and never will be as long as you don't answer the cell phone, and are outa the truck. Communication includes answering the phone! Jes remember I typed, weekends off, is, revenue lost. Period.

If weekends are sacred to ya, it'll cost ya. Find anuther cowboy.

I don't know. First thing I want to do is get out of the truck when I'm frustrated after a couple of bad weeks. I'd suggest he go home and relax, but keep his cell on. You can't blame anyone but yourself if you're not running, yet aren't available for a potential game winner. Keep an eye on the O/O site to see if he's available, or turned something down he should've taken.

If he's hungry, it'll show.

We have found that it is dead on the weekends also, and holidays also. If he's close to home, why wait it out at a stop somewhere else? I didn't see anything about him turning his cell off, did I miss something?

Theres one owner here at E-1 that gets the trip offers first and he says yes or no...then it goes to the driver. The driver never gets to hear about the bad offers...
Personally I don't think that babysitting to that degree can be good ..the driver isn't learning anything....and besides the owner can't blame the driver when the trucks not making money!!

Husb just got home and crawled into bed, but I asked and he isn't familiar with a Brandon.. he'll look into it.. will keep you posted..
So are you saying he is on the B List? Another little learning curve procedure to find out about the weekend work available to A List OOs? Is that kinda like being an outie bellybutton? :D Jeeze, and here we thought it was just 'slow' on the weekends! haha! How long does it take to get on the A List, and how?
Honestly, husb has turned down only 2 loads in 6 mos: 125mi dh and 63mi paid at $88 in a major snowstorm to Toronto (worked out to 47cents/mi); the other time he was already on the road and out of hours. The time he declined the snowstorm to Toronto load, they immediately called back with a similar offer, except minus the 1st 63mi dh, and he took it. He's polite to them, says thank you even when being offered sh*t loads. Some of them he jokes back and forth with. When there's a prob with something, he has the patience of a saint in allowing them to take their time with it (it drives me crazy!) What can he do to 'up his status to the 'A List'.... any suggestions?

Brandon usually works weekends well did....he's got s dry humour and if your on his "Go To" list you'll get more weekend work IF available...he's basically lazy and only makes one call....and thats to his GO TO people.....he doesn't give a rats a## about 1,2,3,,,as he says "dispatcher discretion"

His cell phone is always on. It just happened that Panther had a shipper that has a load going 90 miles west in PA and they booked the same driver to go back to the pick up and drive it up to Springfield MA. He won't be up to Massachussetts until 4pm today. He will be lucky to have two hours of service left after the delivery. I really don't see him getting a load on Sat so why not come home for a day or so? He is on the east coast and he is going to ask for a paid move.

I really can't even remember a time when husb was ever called on a weekend, but he has always been available every weekend.. the only weekend calls he has rec'd have been on a Sunday dinntertime-ish, asking to to pick up at 3am or something on a Monday..
So.. if there are weekend guys that don't even know you.. and therefore they don't ever call you.. how do you get to be on their go-to list? I believe husb mentioned the dispatchers there are behind locked doors?
At any rate, husb will find out if Brandon is still there..

NightCreature I have been dealing with FedEx Ground for the last five years. I still own four P/D routes in the Home Delivery and they can be cold hearted bastards.

FedEx Ground and Custom Critical are as different as day and night.Cold hearted,Ive not found that to be true,I have found time to time, you could find a dispatcher you might think was cold, but since i'm an easy person to get along with, and its my football, then we are going to do things my way.You all at Ground practically are company employees,so yes,you might feel that way.I'm an idependent, and treated as one.Ive even had to train quite a few to stop calling me Mr Gilbert,I'm Steve to my friends and the people I work with,I appreciate the respect, but I dont need it.
