FedEx is doing away with the CC as just CC

I thought it would be a positive thing from the start. Then I find out my current CC will be stepping down due to the extended hours. Oh well, hopefully I will get someone I like as much as the current one.

Settlement Sheets Have a New Look as well

Your settlement sheets have been updated to make them easier to read and gather your necessary information. They will be available on the extranet starting Monday, Feb. 19. Paper copies will be sent out on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

The new sheets include more information than before and are organized in a more logical manner. They begin with the broadest information and work down to the most specific information.

Settlement sheets will be available on the extranet a little later than you may be used to. We are including information from more sources in the report, so it takes a couple days longer to make the information available to you on the extranet. As a result, settlement sheets will be available on the extranet on Monday of the pay week, instead of Friday of the previous week. As usual, we will mail paper settlements on Tuesdays.

This sample shows you the new format of the sheets. Here is a summary of the type of information included in each section:

Settlement Summary shows the total number of shipments and pay for the settlement period. It also shows how you receive your settlement (direct deposit, paper check, Comdata) as well as any court-ordered adjustments you may have (child support, tax levies, etc.).

Fleet Details gives an item-by-item breakdown of all the compensation and adjustments for your fleet. It also gives a summary of the unapplied or outstanding adjustments in your fleet (insurance, fuel taxes, PrePass, drug tests, etc.).

Truck Summary shows the item-by-item breakdown for all the compensation and adjustments for each truck in your fleet. This section also gives you a summary of the unapplied or outstanding adjustments in your fleet (escrow, C-link, etc.).

Truck Details shows the details for each shipment, including run number, pickup and delivery locations, miles traveled, charges to the customer and payment to you.

Sir,

It sounds there is change taking place Fedex where CC's going to be dispatchers, and new changes of settlement sheet is apart of change that is taking place as well. I felt to share with members and it is related subject unless you have something else in mind.

I don't think its proper to copy and paste things from the extranet onto a public site. Anyone who needs to see the exact wording can see it and those who are not leased to FCC have no business seeing those things.

We were wondering how much Luck anyone else was having getting things done that your former CC use to get done for them, or what you think of how the change is so far. We called the other day and chatted with a very nice young lady who did what she could to help, but informed us that our new CC had left for the day, she leaves at 3:30. She told us that we have a particular person assigned to us, like before, but this person is also a dispatcher. She went on to say that contrary to what we had been told, it is not likely that we will be able to get answers or problems solved, like before, 24/7 like we thought we would with the change. She also told us that they waited till after the change took place to train the new CCs, seems like they would have done that before the change to help with the transition. We are not fussing, just hoping it will get better, once everything works out. But we sure do miss our former CC, she really helped us.

I just sent a long email to Contractor Relations regarding what you mentioned. I am not pleased with the way the transition is being handled either. As it stands right now there really isn't any liason available. It is painfully obvious that not all dispatchers have the CC quality in them and I am talking to a different dispatcher every time I call in. Not what I was expecting...

maybe if when you call in,if you ask to talk to the person you want to talk with, you might get the answers you want to here.not everyone that answers the phone is going to do this.
myself if a person isnt understanding from where i'm coming,I ask to talk to someone else,if I have a problem with someone,I dont ask to talk to a cc,but the person i'm having a problem with.
there are lots of ways to settle a problem.

Well if they are not 24/7, then this seems typical for a big business.

I feel that there was no need to change to begin with. I honestly don't want a multitasking multitrained person handling my problems that could effect my bottom line, but someone I can build a relationship with (even if it is on a quarterly cycle) whom I can trust to get something done.

Was a reason for the change and an explination of how this is going to be advantagious for us asked by our star reporter when he was at FedEx?

They essentially have went to Panther's system. They eliminated their whole contractor relations department. The old system was better, but is more expensive to the carrier. I wouldn't say their is anything that is an advantage to the driver. If a problem arises, you will likely find yourself repeating the same issue many times to different people until it is resolved. Especially if it is around shift change.

Yes indeed- that's why I don't get into stuff very often with my folks. When I talk to my HR person I get straight answers, like it or not. No jive, competent, and mostly informed. If you folks have so many problems with company policemen or newbie folks who know nothing, why bother talking to them?
When I have a problem calling someone, it is usually the senior dispatcher on duty all night, that says "didn't you know that when you took the load?" Guess I will have to start dropping phone calls again- dumb Verizon.
I just say yes or no, and like Nightcreacher said, P2 has a phone number.

I don't know about Panther's attempt to retain contractors or if they even made some statements to the effect of a retention system, but FedEx has made it a point publically that they are trying to improve the system for retention.

I have not yet been presented with a problem to talk to a new dispatcher/whatever they are called, so I am not sure what the effect of the change will mean to me directly. I know that these changes should have been transparent (meaning rotating training) and not "sorry we can't get to your call right now, we are all out training" message on hold.

Maybe if you people would stop screwing up your loads and paper work, you would not have to talk to them as much.}>

We used to have Dani for our CC and he was fantastic at taking care of all our questions and problems. The lady we have now is ok but a far cry from what we were used to with Dani.

Ever since this latest CC change, we have gotten excellant results by talking directly to a supervisor when we don't get answers with a dispatcher. It's a apin in the neck sometimes but at least all our problems and questions get taken care of to our liking. Guess we're one of the lucky ones.

As to your comments jaminjim, what makes you think that WE need to talk to a dispatcher or CC because we 'screw up our loads or paperwork' as you put it? Haven't you ever had to call for other reasons, such as poor directions, not getting the proper pay, etc? There are MANY reasons why we O/O need to talk to our CC or dispatcher...and it's NOT because we 'screw up our loads or paperwork'.

I would reread Jim's post. I believe he was referring to the carrier rather than the driver.
Every carrier wants programs that help with driver retention. I believe that has to be weighed with the program and cost in mind.
As for Panther, it is a system that stills works. Just alittle different. We seldom call for anything so it isn't like it is a radical change. Something specific on a load or directions would really be the only times. Pay issues and the like are done via the internet now. There really isn't a need to talk to any one on those.
Issues that don't need addressed right away can be handled by email.
I am assuming Fedex is moving to that same system based on these posts.

Wingnut, first you must not have noticed }> }> . }> Once you have been here for awhile you will know that I never take this stuff to seriously. And never hardly say (type) anything of importance. So if you were offended, sorry............well kind of sorry..........well not really. x(
