There had to be an error in those numbers. The minimum for a van is higher than that plus adding in dhpl and dhpu. That would have been a press zero and ask what's the deal offer.

FEDEX is NOT going away. How they do business with contractors is changing. Their business plan is changing to fit THEIR needs. Ours has to change to fit OUR needs. Everyone else needs to make sure that, no matter what carrier you are with, that YOUR business plan meets the needs of your OWN business. If not, make other plans.

We have see our rate per mile fall throughout the year. Gross numbers are similar to last year but it is all in FSC.

Is the load offer a mistake? It would NOT surprise me if it is valid. We had a TVAL offer, not all that long ago, that came across at $.85 per mile. It was hard to turn it down, we were laughing SO HARD we could not operate the Clink!

Now, that TVAL load had a TON of DH on it which drove the pay down. However, had we been sitting there and got the offer we would have turned it down anyway. We don't run TVAL for what that load payed.

Joe once again I will ask break down the .85 cents a mile?

Was it all miles to pay?

How did the actual load pay?

How many dead head from delivery to layover miles were there?
How any miles from layover to pickup were there?

I agree the load would be horrible but in reality are the loaded miles only paying .85?

What was your penalty for turning down that load?

I no longer have the load info, I really wish we had copied it down. It WAS funny!

That was all miles pay. The run, including the massive DH was around 1000 miles and it paid around $850 dollars.

IF I remember correctly the load paid around $1.10 per mile IF a truck was sitting next to the pick up point. It was a small, van size load.

I am not sure what you mean by "penalty" for turning down the load. So far, we are not "penalized" for turning down loads. They seem to no longer use load acceptance for much. Good thing. With the new dispatch system we are forced to turn down far too many loads. Our truck cannot run for what a van can run loads for yet we are offered loads that pay between .80 and 1.10 all the time.

Well FDXCC is not exactly going under. They are being sold though. I bought 'em yesterday, lock, stock and barrell. $37.87 :D More later...I've got some contractor's to straighten right now...not a lot of time to chit chat :)

I was wondering who outbid me. I didn't think $40 would be too high.

I don't understand, Greg. Please explain. I am more lost than normal, it's the heat here. My pea brain is fried.

Fried?

Well I think you need to understand that they make their main money off of packages and parcels - not freight.

So if the idea that the package services need to be competitive and run a specific way, they apply that idea to the other parts of the company.

Have your numbers not been better the last couple of months? I have friends in a Tval truck that have been running really well at really good rates.

Edit: I should have stated that they have ran really well for the last couple of months. The first half of the year, they were screaming pretty loud too.

Gee, I haul mainly freight. Sometimes I carry just "packages" but not most of the time.

I see where you are coming from. As I said. With any carrier, not only FDCC, their business plan is theirs and that is NOT always what is best for the O/O business plans. That is business.

Are you saying that the Fed uses freight not as a revenue source but as a means to provide their packages & parcels more avenues to be delivered, aka more capabilities and freight is run at a break even to increase the more profitable package capabilities?

I am a D unit-that price was after i took out out my dhpl miles and pay-which were already mine. Dispatch didn"t put any run pay in just the fuel surcharge 2.79-I passed on that load. it was one heck of a laugh-needed a good tickle

FedEx is not going down... we are going down... That's the worst company I ever drove for.... You won't see any offers in your home area direction... after drop or a mini you'll sit for 8 hrs unless they need you really bad...Our contractor coordinator is there just to have a nice lunch everyday ... They have to make shareholders happy and the last thing they care is the O/O ... they are not humans they are animals... greedy like every big corporation here... stop working for them and stop buying from big corporations .. personally I wont buy nothing from Walmart
B unit at Fdcc

Truth of the matter I as well was doing good, I shut down on the 8th of July and took a 12 day break after being in service for 22 weeks straight. Of which that was since feb when I had come back from a 12 day break after being in service for 8 months straight, this being from he Easter in 2010.

That being said since Ive been back in service this unite has not been doing what it had been doing or is capable of doing. Spread the Wealth!
