I think the food source was why we had them so bad back then. My step family all had cattle and hogs on their farms. They all had corn fields in the area. They were small operations...15-20 hogs + whatever baby pigs were on the ground at the time. But, when you added it all up, and most others in the area did the same, I suspect it was quite a food source. The hog farms are a thing of the past in our area now, most just raise cattle. The corn fields are growing hay. It's all good as far as I'm concerned. I've never hated anything quite as bad as I hated hog farming.Yeah, a little east, and a little north this year. They usually go just below the freeze line, so they can get good pickins on seeds laying in the fields. But the Global Warming Climate Change has moved them a little to the north. Back a few years ago, early 90s I guess, I was in Nashville the year they roosted there. It was a uniquely powerful smell, I remember that.
