Got my tires rotated, no dog... yet
Figured out a little mystery that's been bugging me ever since I had my repair work last Monday.
The control board that holds the rear light bulbs was replaced.
I couldn't figure out why the new bulbs looked brighter then the other side.
Since the bulbs were shaped a little different, I thought they may be brighter, so I paid the extra $8 for 2 dealer bulbs to match the other side. Nope, maybe I need another control panel? Well that will have to wait, they are working after all.
Today after examining the lens cover, it dawned on me.
Around last summer I was having the same issue with the bulbs not working. The Sprinter shop in KC I was at said that MB didn't sell just the panel, you get the whole light assembly cover. Which seemed stupid when I only needed the panel. So I passed, and bought 2 panels online. Which turned out to be defective anyways
Flash forward to today. I noticed that the new brighter lens did not have any paint residue on it from prior touch up painting mishaps, and was brand new. So I must have got a brand new lens cover and control panel. Which explained why the cost of the part was about the same as KC quoted.
So I guess if i want the other side to be brighter, I'll have to replace the other lens cover.
I'll see what Wayne has around
