John Elliot is in negotiations with Obamacare now.

20% off normal rate if patient will lay ON TOP of freight . :)

LOL!! Did that once. 3 skids at 18" tall. Couldn't drop bunk so air mattress right on the skids. Guess it's a good thing it was durable. Saved a room, though

my last 2 bills....about $10.00 a mile ...ALL miles....with a $350.00 call fee......gee whiz.....don't know what it is back east....

It depends. When Mrs. Layoutshooter and I ran ambulance there were options. One could join the ambulance "club", which was around $100 per year back then. If you joined all ambulance services were covered for the entire family for that year. OR, you could pay the the trip, or have your insurance billed.

my second ride was just a transfer, non threatening...that one was almost $5,000 for a 200 mile ride...Almost as much as they'd pay LOS.....LOL

I would charge double that if I knew it was you! Don't you have a pre-paid service out that way?

Business must be slow right now. We were in service for an entire 5 minutes before we got a load. I HATE waiting that long! Picking up in MI this afternoon, going to NC.

All of our basic life support (BLS) ambulances where we ran were volunteer. The county hospital owned some paramedic, advanced life support, (ALS) units. They would respond along with the BLS unit IF requested. Our "club dues" covered the ALS units as well. They did not cover any life flight services but "LifeLion", out of Hershey Medical Center had prepaid options. At least they did back then.

No reason not to have prepaid volunteer services. Maybe even more important to set up your own if the Feds are involved. NOTHING can screw up emergency services more than the Feds. They are normally more expensive that real emergency services.
