Imma bust out with a in inflatable movie theater screen and charge for admissions to sit down and watch DVD's on the big screen. Time to get MTV to "yo pimp my ride" so I can be the coolest cat in the parking lot. OVM can bring the mud-wrestling tub along too and we can charge pepople money for him and Dakota to put their clothes back on!!

Left Haw River Sunday Droped off @ 2354 in Woodhaven. Ice pack roads from 52 to 74. Got to I-77 and was clean and clear all the way to pickup in Blacksburg, VA...Sitting at the J off 280- 15th out!!!

Eddie,

I had a delivery in Detroit in the morning and I stopped at the J to get some sleep. I pulled in next to you, but then moved away because I had 2 generators running on both sides, so I needed some quietness. When I left at around 4:30 you were not there any more.
There were too many vans sitting everywhere up there, so I deadheaded to Cincinnati. It paid off since I got a run from Cincinnati to Fountain Inn, SC, delivering in the morning. After that home, sweet home.

Dropped in Ft Lauderdale, the freight (a blownup NEW GM Motor) wasn't ready to ship, it won't be until noon tommorow...so...it gets better...the tranmission in my van is messing up (really hard shifts) so i am sitting at a Chevrolet dealer, hoping they can get it fixed or replaced asap in the morning.....such is life.....over 6000 loaded paid miles last month, this load paid over $2200....easy come easy go...i guess that is why you keep enough in the banks for these repairs....

Oh the van turned over 270,000 miles on the way down here...

Cheff, sorry to hear about your transmission. I was wondering if you had an external transmission cooler on your truck? I met another guy with a GMC and he also had a problem with his transmission with a low amount of miles on it. Are the Savana transmissions the same as the ones that are in the regular Chevy Express vans? I guess it is all a crap shoot, because my Savana 1500 "small transmission" was still working decent with 350k on it. Despite this, I am still concerned about the "GMC's" possibly not having an external transmission cooler which can cause the tranny to go out at a young age.

Sorry I missed ya. I D/H to Beverdam, got a load to Lawrenceburg, then pre-dispatched to Texas....On my way there now. I'll stop by the house for shower and coffee, then off to the long star.

Dallas to Laredo, unloaded this morning,Then got a load from Los Indios,Tx (southeast of McAllen) going to Georgetown, Ky A nice and cool 1,400 miles.Thank God I listened and took The freight king's advice....yes- OVM !!! LOL.And, of course, my dispatcher had alot to do this, since I mentioned the only way I'd go down there is if he would get me out quickly.Prayer also helped.

I thought about that, and I feel for you..really. But it not you or me, it is who we run for.I don't know why you're boss didnt see this one or the other one.If I could get another van, I'd buy one and get you outta there in a heartbeat!! But I can only do the one I have at the time.

Well the Chev dealer would touch it until late today, so i blew out and was at a trans place at 7:30 am , met the owner at the door when they opened and the van was in the shop by 8:30.....a clutch pack is smoked, so its a rebuild of my trans, not an off the shelf exchange...some where around $1500 with a torque converter also......

I lost my return load, but i'll be DH'n up to GA by 1800 tonight..try to grab a load north, if not, i'll DH towards home. Cjances are I'll go out of service on Monday and have a few other things on the van taken care of, including adding a external Trans cooler.......

so here i sit and wait, but still not as long as TJP!!! :D And yea TJ, we do need to enjoy some good food again!!!!

Cheff, did the repair shop tell you why the transmission failed? Was it due to lack of an external transmission cooler or just a mechanical defect?
