I can say for certain - an event like this has never happened in our industry before. This is so unique I called Expediters Services and spoke with Jason Williams to get the lowdown myself.

Here's the delio.....

If you are a new or experienced contract driver, O/O or Fleet Owner
Expediter Services will pay you:

  • $100 Cash
  • 1 night in a hotel
  • 3 Meals (that I counted).......

If you attend their event called EGG in Memphis in April. The EGG is a workshop/open house/truck buying/truck financing event.

I have to say the terms of how "anyone" can get financed was very interesting. Don't quote me - but I believe you can get financed with little or no money down and you can use your expediter driving experience to help in the consideration. I was concerned that this model was like a "lease-purchase" but was assured it is true ownership financing. I was also surprised to learn that they may or may not use your credit score in the approval process. If you have a good work ethic and they can qualify that - you can get a truck.

Plus If you buy a truck or finance a truck from them you will receive $1000 cash.

The purpose of this post is to bring awareness to this for the people who want to buy or finance a truck and really - the way they are rolling this out is very unique.

Give them a call at 888-502-8103 to get the details. Also, register here Expediter Services : Expediter Group Gathering

If you go....please share your experiences on this thread.

Can I be the first to call attendees, EGG-Heads ?

Just kidding. :)

Sounds cool. Maybe I can get Jason to give me $100 to stay away ?

Seriously, I'd love to take their money/food to learn more about the program.

Really, little EGG shaped hats would be cool. :)

I would likely be more EGG-cited if I thought that buying a new truck was a good business idea. The idea of a new truck right now does NOT EGG-cite me all that much.

I like the idea of new, fewer problems, more comfort etc. I DON'T like the idea of the cost, the newer engines, and I am not so sure that this business is the best to be in right now. I am so not sure about this right now.

If I were in the area, I would go.

You may be closer to a new truck than you think. Or maybe a newer truck.

Education is power.
Go learn something.

Can't make those dates, prior plans. Yes, education is power. It cannot, however, do ANYTHING about the rates or the new engines. The thought of a quarter mill concerns me. I am not confident that it will produce what is needed to cover the cost and meet our needs for income.

If you need a new truck soon, getting a NEWER truck may be the best solution to maintaining your present lifestyle.
Depends on your options......

So would hitting the lottery. I don't want another used truck and I have LOTS of doubts about the business that make me wary of a new one. OPTIONS? Don't see many right now, at least none that I like.

Not sure on the fewer problems with new? At least not my experience as of yet. But I am always game for a free room.;)

Different kinds of problems? My truck is needing LOTS of things replaced, like maybe the radiator right now. 814K+ on the clock and things are wearing out.

The free room would be nice, but alas, I will be no where near there on those dates, can't make it.

That is what I find with the new ones. Just as many issues but of a different variety.

Dave, aren't many of your older trucks one make, and your newer ones another make ?
Different dealers,etc.
Does this play into this at all ?

To some degree. Newer ones are Freightliners. Older ones are KW's & Sterlings. If comparing, the KW's are more durable than the new ones. Newer ones have issues more tied to emissions and since they are under warranty, have limitations on who can do the work. Dealers only play into when looking for service. From a price point at purchase, they are all pretty similar.

I was parked near a very nice T-300/T-400 with single axle and ICT.
Thought it might be yours. Got busy and never saw or talked to the driver.

By far the best looking Panther truck in the lot that day. :)

Very well could have been ours. We do use the large ICT sleepers.

We attended two of these events... One was their inaugural run to see how it was received and then part of the presentation at the Expo last year. Jeff is a great speaker and anyone that is close or even not that close and are considering moving up or buying a new truck should consider going. They have a lot of options to purchase and are also have trucks at more then one company. This would be time well spent.

Thanks for the PM's and questions on the following question:

"Can anyone truly get financed?"

I spoke with Jason Williams again and got some clarification.

The answer is YES - ANYONE CAN GET TRUCK FINANCING, BUT:

You may fit into one of the following groups:

1. You are ready now with credit and down payment.

2. You have some credit and some down payment but you still need a program that helps in one of these areas.

3. You do not have credit nor down payment, so you need a program that addresses both of these issues.

Jason Williams at Expediter Services has confirmed with me they have programs that can support all of these scenarios. This is what they’ve been doing for several years now and they seemed to have honed this service for our industry quite well.

Both Jason Williams and Jeff Tacker are available to answer more specific questions. 888-502-8103
