You have to get an ID and password, I think any of the dispatchers can tell you this one. It has something to do with the new QC everyone that has one has to log in to it or something. It talks the messages is all I know for sure about them. The password is the same for QC or online I think, its amazing to see your status drop so fast. Refuse one load you go to 75% acceptance, take a day off drops to 91% avalibility, lower everyday.

That's because, unless they've changed it, your percentages continue to rotate at a 30 day cycle. So, you could take the day off having 100% in service for the past six months, but it counts as a day off in your last 30 days. Then say that day is the first of the month. If you stay in service until the first of the next month, you're back to 100%.

In reply to the question that you asked Dave
In order to receive your web-site information you have to give panther your e-mail address and they will send your password to you that way they will not give it to you over a land line.

Your ID will be your owners number or drivers number.
If Panther assigned you your old PBO Number that you got from Conway then that will be your ID.

When I first got mine I just went to the web-site and applied for a password there, so you could go and put your PBO number that Conway gave you in as your ID and apply on line.

IF that does not work then you will need to call your team leader in the morning, or safty.

Bernie, It was John and not Art that used the poor choice of words "reject".
But I understand how if you are doing well and like the company you are with and you see people trashing the company it does irritate you.

I figured I would see an offended Conway driver before long. But it was just a generic reference so don't feel bad, Bernie

Yeah but I did jusy go back and read all the posts and Art did sound a little mean in his first post about saying that he didn't want us here at P2 anyway. Like those of us at Conway had a choice. We do however have a choice now to stick it out and see how P2 is and so far they are treating us great. I also know having been in the expediting business for 12 yrs that it's not always going to be roses with any company. But we ARE all out here for the same reason. No sense in treating someone else bad just because they might not like some of the things about a certain company.

My wife and I are also happy with Panther. We are still new to the business (started with Panther in Feb. 2004) but we have learned what works for us.
When we started, we bought a used D unit and last June were able to trade that in for a brand new 2006. This past year, we took a month off starting just before Christmas until late January and had the whole month of July off. (we actually did the same last year too)
We save money through the busy times to have money through the slow times. You just need to learn what works for you.

Time off?
In the hand book panther gave out it said something about, if you take a month off your put out of service for two weeks, the first time and contract terminated the next time. Is this not an item they inforce? We have been known to take off on occasion with conway, and was a little worried when we read this in the handbook. Do they give you any trouble on your extended time off? Also on a old thread few months back someone said that panther holds your pay when you take extended time off is this true? All info is helpful, thanks.

I believe you have to call them within the thirty days. Not really sure on the pay. We never had ours held, but also haven't had our fleet down for 30 days either. Someone in contractor relations should be able to give exact information.

I never noticed that in the handbook but then I just kind of skimmed through it. When we put in for our Out of Service and have to put in a return date, we just put in whatever date we are planning to return. Noone has ever given us any problems about the time off but they are known to call while you are out to see if you might be interested in taking a load. If you are not interested, you just tell them no! However, you must call in to be put back into service, you cannot just do it over the QC. And yes, they will hold your pay if you are out for an extended period but they do release it once you come back into service and take your first run. That does not bother us though because at least you know you have a pay check coming in after taking that long vacation.
If you have any other questions, ask away. I will try and give you an honest answer as far as our experience goes.
