Gregg334,
Response from my people on wet concerns: Eco-flaps should not add to the water now being indirectly whipped toward your dolly or generator box now with traditional flaps. Also, if still concerned, use them on your trailer alone. Tests show that
1/3rd of the savings benefit come from having Eco-flaps on the tractor only and 2/3rds of the savings benefit will come from having Eco-flaps on the trailer only.
If you are outside of CA. OR or WA you can order online at ecoflaps.com or call them at 866-543-5277.
If you are on West Coast you can reach my contact info at jonesindustrialsales.com

what can you expect on a single axle straight truck?

It will vary depending on your average speeds (as on any vehicle). The aero drag at 55mph is four times that at 25mph. That said, Cohen Steel (NH) is getting 2.5% -3% better mpg using
24"x30" flaps on the rear of their straight trucks. These were on 200 mile trips with loads of 5,000 - 15,000 lbs. I do not know if they were flatbeds or vans. What can also affect your results would be a lift gate assembly hanging below the frame.
