I completely agree,but when someone does post they should realize the world is reading,I could not believe he would have stuck his foot in his mouth like that and only change whn realizing that tri state was reading and posted a reply but I was only useing that as an example of how I stood corrected

Stop Stop Stop this is getting very controversial. And you know what happens when it gets controversial. You get DELETED! But I’ve been in this industry almost 20 years I think it’s a bit more than a drive by! The industry lost one of the GREATS Friday had her paperwork in to retire. Been with the company 20 to 25 years job eliminated. (Job eliminated = your SOL, no retirement, and after so many years they escort you to the door). This is not a bash, no company named, not a drive by, its just hard to see someone treated so badly when they have been there when the @#$% hits the fan in the middle of the night so many times.

20 years in the biz, but only a couple of days here. The time here is what matters, something that would seem obvious to most. There used to be an unmoderated expediting forum. There was so much garbage to wade through to find a decent post, it wasn't worth spending time there. I'm sure that's why it didn't survive. I'd much rather have moderators than have to put up with blowhards trying to see who can sound dumber.

Lawrence its not about ONE CARRIER its about the industry. How many people are better off today, happier with what they are doing, thinking about maybe staying with the industry all there career. Lets not get this out of proportion. One of our industries greatest and worst attributes is there are people that are at the top of the pile and those that are at the bottom, and lets not forget everywhere in between. I find your comment about not being a member and posting but being in the industry for a long time a bit offensive. Because I just decided to take the time and investigate what was going on with EO I should be ridiculed. Not fair…….Oh that’s right its standard in the industry.

Everywhere you look in this world, there are rules that we are expected to follow. Fair or not, that's the way life goes. EO, just like the carriers, have rules in place for a reason. If you don't like the rules or don't feel that you can follow them, then you should go find another playground to play in. I look at this situation like this: you made a post, you violated an EO rule that you AGREED to abide by when you signed on, you got gently reprimanded, now let it go and move on. Rehashing or complaining about it isn't going to change or solve anything.

Got2go, I enjoyed reading your post, and it would be nice if you stick around, and repost something similar after you make your 10 posts.

Seems to me that many are in the biz, or get into the biz, without necessarily knowing about or participating in EO.. and then when perhaps the going gets weird, one might want feedback or have questions, or be looking for specific info, and that's when they might discover EO or make their first post. Many times that means their first post may be on the negative side. EO wants regular contributors and not just fly-by-night grudge-holders venting their anger, never to be seen again once they unloaded their issue(s).

That's obviously not the case with you, but understanding that, why don't you quickly make your 10 posts, so you can bring up your issue(s) again. There are lots of things to post about, and we could sure use another industry old-timer around here. Hope you decide to stay.

Got2go I agree with PJJJJ. Do stick around you sound as if you might know something about the industry and would be a true asset to EO. Make your 10 post and then bring up this issue you would like to discuss or make others aware of.

Wingnut is right as well, rules are in place for the benefit of us all, that is not to say we are not interested in what you have to say, just that there are rules and they should be observed by all who participate in the forum. If EO allows one poster to break the rules then there are no rules. I see you have 9 post now so make your 10th post and then you can discuss the issue you joined EO to discuss.

I am glad I got to see GO2GO's orginal post to see what the rumbbling was about. I can understant the frustration he feels with a name brand carrier not beig able to deliver (no pun intended).On the promise of huge miles in todays economy. If it were up too this carrier They would have more freight than they could handle,then everyone would would make money.these post used to pop up from time to time and it would always turn into ..."oh yeah!!! well your momma wears army boots" bla bla bla ..Nothing constructive was ever said after that. Lawerence ,I believe, Has made the right move by having a code in place to stem these post that tend to nit pick. He has been judicious and not been advocate for any advertising or nonadvertising carrier on the forum ...as it should be.
I UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATION GO2 we have all been there and our first inclanation is too punch the carrier in the nose with a post.
This business like all others is subject to the ups and owns of greater outside forces. when things are good ..heck we are rollin.. When things are bad well ..did you save your money?? This industry is a feeder off the host ..when the host is sick so are the feerders.

I did and I was was average class room cut up in school.. WE had an excellent run in expedidting..No one owed me anything. YOU are responsible for you success or failer.

I understand what you are saying I really do but please understand I’m not *****ing I was just trying to point out the SELF DISRUCT path the whole expediting industry seems to be on. It’s not just one company! It was my intention to discuss what I and others are doing to combat the obvious changes in the industry and the inability for some of the players to adapt. I am curious how far we are all willing to compromise till it’s not worth it anymore.

Look around.. we have MANY controversial posters who I don't agree with... heck, might even be a mod or two LOL.. or ex mods.. etc.. but you know what, it'd be a sad choir if everyone sings the same.

Not even close. He did mention one carrier, but not in a disparaging manner. The post was about the industry at large, and our place within it.

If he reposts it, I sincerely hopes he learns the difference between "there" and "they're", as "There at it again" makes no sense whatsoever. The post was chocked full of errors like that (the multiple "industries" when it should have been the possessive "industry's", etc.), making the actual meaning of the message harder to grasp, and the mentioning of the carrier seemingly to stand out more as part of an incoherent rant, which is probably why it got canned.

Ok, I remember that post. I made the remark he was either drunk or uneducated. And I agree, I couldn't make heads or tails out of it and what I could make out of it, I was not sure if he was ranting or making a statement.

At first read it really did look like a rant, a classic drive-by, which I'm sure is why it got canned. It took persistence to glean the actual meaning, though, and once I was able to figure out the Enigma Machine's code and decipher the message, it was actually quite thought provoking.

I've learned to ignore people's spelling and grammatical errors. That kind of stuff is not exactly everyone's "best subject". I do my best to figure out what someone has typed and decipher their meaning. If I can't, well I just move on.
