Do you know that the decline has to do with how they handle the bees in mass more than anything else.

That, pesticides, and maybe even cell phones. The freq that most operate on seems to interfere with honey bee navigation systems. No matter what the cause their loss could be a REAL problem.

Those antlers are most likely reproductions. Most of those huge racks at the Cabela's stores are. They pay the racks owners for the rights to reproduce them. Besides, I don't do Cabela's, they suck.

HEY WAIT A MINUTE THERE OVM, he isn't in my district - I have a republican who can't spell.

The problem with the bees is complex and may be pretty much completely man made. Some think it is the Genetically altered food and others think it could be related to the epidemic of bee mites (don't laugh it is serious) that carry viruses. The problem seems to have been propagated by the mobile pollination services of some large operations which truck hives all over the place to pollinate whole farms and then move on. Either way, it is a man made problem and should get more attention than global warming, the banking crisis or anything else.

By the way OVM, kept bees for over 15 years.

Been to a Scheels, they wear neck ties there, not worth the effort. When FORCED to buy a national chains I use Gander Mountain and Bass Pro Shops. I prefer to go to mom and pop shops when I can.

I am a card carry member of PETA! Person Eating Tasty Animals.

Management of the deer heard needs to included increasing the limits and includeing Doe.

MS, TN GA, AL and others increased the limits.
TN- two split seasons 4 bucks, 2 on the same day if you want. Later on they added doe to the mix on the second part, 3, After reg. 2 part hunting season is over they added anything without antlers- another 3. This is Gun season only. Limits on bow and black powder was also incresed.

There are more deer in the US now then there was when we first came over. Managemnet works.

I was going down 65 in IN last winter and stopped counting deer after 30 in a field. That is way too many. If they do not kill them down, then starvation, road kill, and other acts will or could wipe the out forever.

You are quite right Greg. If we lose honey bees it would be a crisis that pales all other out there today. Few know about it or would even pay attention to it if they knew. It is all most likely a man made problem.

I say get rid of Detroit and Michigan would be a near perfect state:)

Not only Detroit, Flint, Saginaw, Grand Rapids, Bay City, Benton Harbor and most other cites over 5000 people. The are canker sores on the face of the State.

Considering honey bees are domesticated by man it probably is a man-made problem. And if mosquitoes are the pollinators responsible for helping mountain cedar in its trek, it's one more reason for eradication.

Remove Frosted Flakes from the cereal isle, and the cereal isle doesn't get smaller and children don't starve to death. Some may throw a fuss at first, but the counters fill in with Capt Crunch and Lucky Charms and some new model that is created to fill the gap. In a couple months, everyone forgets that Frosted Flakes existed. Evolution is more resilient than people give it credit.

But who cares. Frosted Flakes will never go extinct.

I remember going down I-26 in the Carolinas, and approached a grassy area along with a couple other rigs. As soon as our headlights hit this grassy area, we saw a huge herd of deer, grazing. More importantly, they saw us, and scattered in 16 different directions, leaving the illumination of our headlights. There were so many, I thought for sure a few of them were heading for the road. Fortunately, none crossed near us.

Man, I hate deer. Kill 'em all. Open season on does, too.

Southbound I-77 Virginia saw something in the left lane as I was tooling along in the right. A deer also southbound running in the left lane, not crossing just running down the freeway. Stupid deer running in the left lane doing nowhere near the speed limit. I also did over 2,000 damage to a van once and the deer ran away.
