Daughters and Dads things to do

Did something I would have never of done if I did not have a Daughter today. On waiting for a load, decided to invite her since its spring break or she invited me as she would tell the story. To a Manicure.

Boy if you have never had one done, well even being a guy it was great. No Polish or colors, just buffed thanks. But to remoeve all of the dead cutical skin and the message on your hands you gotta get one done to understand. I only paid $12.00 true bargin to do something with my daughter that took time.

I am also very IMPRESSED. To many parents want to share time with their children only doing what the adults want to do. Good for you for going with her. She will remember that forever and so will her children. Kids are so much fun and the older they get the better they are!! We have two great kids that we love to spend as much time as we can with.

Some of my best memories are of my husband and our 4 daughters.He was guest of honor at so many tea parties,the entire fan club for their years of playing ball.
The years of patiently baiting their hooks for fishing,and the girls crying that he was hurting the worms or minnows.So he made a trip to the bait shop to buy the plastic ones.
During the years they were learning to cook,the way he had to struggle to tell them that they were "wonderful cooks".In private,he'd say that was the worse thing I ever had to eat,but the girls never knew it.
It was hard doing yard work,working on cars or anything else with 4 girls helping(?) him but today with all 4 girls grown and married with children of their own...they are still Daddy's girls.Its wonderful to see them all together.I am really blessed with the man that he is.

Sons are also worth while. I went through a difficult divorce when my 3 boys were teenagers. I paid a price in $ but managed to stay active and interested in their lives.

Today they are all married to good women and we have a fine relationship. Usually about once a year the 4 of us manage to get away for a few days with NO WOMEN OR CHILDREN and have a good time.

So do what it takes with your kids as we probably only go around once.

My sons were in elementary school when I got divorced and there was a part of me that sort of understood why some men just take off. I'm glad I knew what the right thing to do was. They've become pretty decent men.

The greatest reward in life is to see your children grow up to be good parents of good children . Then you know you've accomplished something worthwhile .

No telling what my daughter will want me to do with her when she's grown up. Right now, it's helping her with the computer, but she's pretty much learned how to get to her sites herself(she just turned 3 on Saturday). She likes doing things that daddy does, like watching football or poker. She loves me to read "My Truck is Stuck" or just watch her shows with her. She makes me dance with her when certain songs come on. Just wonder if I'm going to be her ballet dummy in a couple years. :7

Well... we found out on her birthday that we're having another. I'd kinda like a boy, but won't care either way. Just want a healthy baby, that's all.

That's made me come to the realization that I don't want to stay on the road much longer. I'd like to get a couple trucks, put some drivers in who just want to drive, run the business from my house, and homeschool my kids. I believe the most important time with children is when they are learning to grow up. And too many of us trust in the government to mold them into what THEY think our kids should become. I look forward to the day I can teach them what I know, and in turn, learn what they have to teach me.

Congrats Thawk! Some say the quality of time is more important than the quanity with your kids. That's a lot of bovine solid waste from people who would rather do something other than be with their kids. If you can get in a position to get off the road you won't regret it. It's amazing how quickly they grow up. Many of us have had to be a Father from afar. It can work, but most would rather be home.

I have 2 girls 10 & 3 and a 3 mnth old boy myself , ever heard the Kenny Chesney song there goes my life that is me in a nut shell, my oldest i wanted a boy real bad so she is the tomboy she LOVES trucks and Ridin with dad and PAPA , I drove when she was younger now i do what Thawk is thinkin on dispatchin and lettin others drive. If you all get the chance take your kid in the truck with you if your CO. will let you you got miles and miles to talk and you get to watch goofy shows like Charlie and the chocolate factory on your of time Plus you look really tough in a truckstop with a kid carring a stuffed elmo, also became a Pro at I SPY and slugbug, LOL GOOD TIMES.

You'll never forget those times. My daughter pressed the button I told her to, and I'll remember her face till the day I die when the air horn went off. :7

Unfortunately, I can't take anyone with me. But, we'll see if either company policies or companies change in the next 5 years or so. I wish we could take my nephew's son right now. Coming up on summer break, that would be the vacation of a lifetime for a 7 year old.

Slug bug. My kids loved that game. When the new VW bugs became so commonplace we changed the rules to original bugs only. My daughter didn't like how this limited her chance to punch little brother. So with Chrysler's introduction of the P.T. Cruiser and its quick popularity she came up with a new game. Cruiser Bruiser. It went down hill from there. Too many cruisers on the road. My wife started Hummer Pummel. That was okay until we passed a military convoy. Near bloodshed in the back seat! The last remake of this game came when we were in Florida. We saw these strange looking cars everywhere. Apparently G.M. gave Avis or Hertz a great deal on the Pontiac Aztek. Thus was born the Aztek Eye Gouge. Thank you daughter dearest`.

We still play as adults slug bug and it is limited to the older VW's the new ones just dont fit the catagory. We also have to say slug bug and the color before you can punch someone. I do not believe we will show our girls this post because we dont need to add any more punches. We have always had fun with the game.

My 16 yr old daughter & her many friends actively (to say the least) enjoy a variant called "Padiddle" (have no idea if that's how it's spelled, & neither does Spellcheck) involving vehicles with one headlight out, & I wonder: is this a regional thing?

Moot: Punch buggy! No punch backs! (My arms can't take much more bruising - the teenagers are waaay better at it than I am)
