Citizenship revoked

People are questioning the actions of the Polk County Florida sheriff's department in the shooting of a criminal alien who had murdered one deputy and wounded another. Anyone who wants to villainize the sheriff's department for their actions should have their citizenship revoked and be immediately ejected as unfit to be a citizen of this nation. It is reported with details here. While it has been closed correctly with no wrongdoing found on the part of the sheriff's department the principal should be applied in any similar circumstances. Kudos and extra points to the sheriff for a great answer to the critics.

They shot him 68 times??
I don't know all of the details but yes when anyone is shot 68 times by law enforcement a full inquiry should be made. The quote that we only stopped because we ran out of bullets seems quite unprofessional.

All the details are in the full article that was cited. The criminal alien shot the deputy in the wrist, bicep, leg, and hip. He then went over to the immobilized officer and shot him twice in the head, at least one being behind the ear, execution style. When he was shot he was pointing a gun at the police.

Sounds like a horrible man the use of deadly force seems warranted.

With that said 68 shots seems extreme for professional law enforcement officers. The comment that they only stopped cause they ran out of ammo unprofessional as well.

They were obviously distraught having having lost fellow officers it would be better for them to say that than try to defend their actions.

The only problem that I see is that they (the police ) need to work on their accuracy. Less than 65%. The sc*m bag put eight shots into the officer, the officers only 6.8 shots each. where's the problem Doug?

If you don't see the problem with it being legal for the police to shoot a corpse 50 times (Thats if the 18th shot killed him) then there is no hope for you.

The 68 shots is only an average of 7.5 shots per firing swat-team member, out of an average of 12.25 shots fired each (jeez maybe they should be practising their aims????). Why take a chance on such scum? It's only a waste of bullets. Cheaper than feeding him for the rest of his life.

I can't believe the comment at the end of the quoted snopes page, saying: 'Would Freeland have run if he'd known that his 1999 case had been dropped and there was no longer a warrant out for his arrest?'

Like.. who cares?

First, his outstanding warrant shouldn't have been dropped, and second, why is someone/anyone making excuses for his behavior? And what kind of members are in the Florida Civil Rights Association to say the police had shown disregard for human life??? Too much!

There were at least 10 officers present at his capture. As soon as he pointed a gun toward one of the officers they all fired. It wasn't as if only a couple of officers put 3 dozen rounds each into him. It may have not been the wisest comment to make but I guarantee that wasn't all the ammo they had. The minimum should be 22 rounds per regular officer and probably 45 per SWAT officer plus however much was on hand for long guns.

I am just saying there should be a full investigation, if they are found to have acted right then fine.
On the surface it seems excessive.

Hey Doug when you become a crime Victim, you will change your tune. At that point you will feel there is not enough bullets that can be put into the guy to put him down.

There was a full investigation, and the shooting was justified. When you're shooting at a man who is point a gun at you, a man that has already killed on officer and wounded another, you fire until you're empty, and then reload if he's still breathing.

As to accuracy, it wasn't like all the officers had a bead on the guy. They were in the woods, probably using trees as shields, and they weren't all that close, plus most were using handguns, not to mention they were shooting at a human being, not a paper target. All things considered, the accuracy was pretty good.

Glad I don't live there, either. Did NOT go to school there, either. Except for one year at Monore County Community College. I was just killing a year till I got drafted. I don't know ANYONE who goes to school in Monroe public schools.

Doug,
Maybe the next time the cops have a shootout when they fire their firsdt few shotsd you can ask them to stop and run over and check for a pulse. This will keep them from shooting him too many time for you.
