That is a good idea. We can get an entire legion of "Liberals" and they can step in between the cops and the bad guys and talk away the problems. Then if needed they would be there to check the pulses if needed. HEY, they could go protest in Iran and Iraq too!!

There were at least 10 officers present at his capture. As soon as he pointed a gun toward one of the officers they all fired. It wasn't as if only a couple of officers put 3 dozen rounds each into him. It may have not been the wisest comment to make but I guarantee that wasn't all the ammo they had. The minimum should be 22 rounds per regular officer and probably 45 per SWAT officer plus however much was on hand for long guns.

When I was On, We Were Issued 45 Rounds Each and we were allowed to Carry 2 More Magazines as Long as they were Equivalent to Departmental Issue and Cleared by the Departments Armory Captain! And that's Not Including what was In the Briefcase in the Patrol Car!

There was a full investigation, and the shooting was justified. When you're shooting at a man who is point a gun at you, a man that has already killed on officer and wounded another, you fire until you're empty, and then reload if he's still breathing.

As to accuracy, it wasn't like all the officers had a bead on the guy. They were in the woods, probably using trees as shields, and they weren't all that close, plus most were using handguns, not to mention they were shooting at a human being, not a paper target. All things considered, the accuracy was pretty good.

Thank You Mr. Turtle! I was Going to Answer that one but I Kept Losing My Temper at "Some" Of the Posts so I Decided Against It!

When I carry I have a full magazine in my pistol and two more in my mag carrier. I mainly stick with a Glock 9 so I have 46 for it plus another 10 rounds of 38 +P, half in a J frame in my pocket and half in a speed strip. I never figured I was all that to require a backup but I did figure if I passed it to my wife and moved away the trouble would hopefully move with me and if not then too bad for them when they met the good shot in the family.

I think the SWAT team acted with due regard for life - their own, which is what matters. Anyone who has ever been in a life or death situation knows that adrenaline kicks in, and instinct aided by training takes over. The officers knew the scumbag had already killed one of their own, [and the dog], and wounded another - are they expected to be more concerned with saving the scumbag's life than their own?
I LOVED the quote - it may have been 'unprofessional', but it was sure enough honest, lol.
