If I could I would..trust me..but no practical way .I do have a 3/8" sub floor screwed and sealed over the factory floor ...sealing for the little drafts make a big diffrence

I guess if you had a dedicated sleeper area it would be easy.

I have the factory wall separating the cargo/ cab area it has a sliding door to pass thru...it makes the biggest difference in heating cooling the sleeping area...so a heavy curtain would be a great idea..

My truck has an apu with ac and heat but i carry the Little Buddy propane heater so i can keep the hours low on the apu. Alspo have a 12v electric blanket and between the 2 i hardly have to run the apu and the electric blanket does not drain the batteries.

I am quite pleased with my Lil buddy heater. Last year it got down to - 17 and inside the van was 60. That's with it on low. When the temp gose down to 25 and below I put a moving blanket on the floor for xtra insulation. Works real well :)

I was thinking about the moving blanket on floor today, but Harbor Freight was out of the large size today.....

McMaster-Carr has some really thick packing blankets and some even made to hang on the interior walls
I think that they would be very rugged and also protect your van walls ,think freight pads in elevators

Tonight is the night I finally am going to test my parabolic heater at 800w and oscillating with my Honda 2000 and 3 gal external tank. Also, I will have a battery charger and some accessories plugged in as well. Lets see how much gas is in that 3 gal tank after about 15 hours or so.
I would have tried this experiment sooner but with my -40 degree double sleeping bag, I just haven't felt the need to use the generator/heater combo. I would have last week in Minneapolis when -10 but I got a load right back out of there before I had a chance.

The eu2000 will use approx. 1 gal for 12-14 hrs. With minimal draw ..for me that's my TV ..cpap..fan..I have the same heater...on low...brings the consumption to 1 gal 9-10 hrs...never really used it on hi..my guess is 6-7 hrs per gal??

Ok, my experiment went well. My weekend setup of Honda 2000, 3 gal external tank and Chicago heater worked better then I ever expected. This is the ticket for me until I get my new van with Espar unit maybe this spring or fall.
If I knew then what I know now, I would have put an Espar in my van when it was much younger.
