Why do so many try to make the smallest engine do the biggest jobs? With the exception of OVM and his 25 mpg avg 5cyl diesel sprinter, I would say this is not a good thing to do.I do not see where anyone can achive longevity and dependability from the smaller gasser engine.A few have tried that on here and it appeared they werent too successful.[/QUOTE]
I've got a 2006 chevy ext cargo van, 4.8 auto. fuel mileage has averaged 16.7 over the last 2 years. Run +110,000 miles a year, and just normal maintenance done to it. Only major problem was battery and it has just been replaced. Had 92,000 on it when I bought it and I'm thinking it will last another 1.5 to 2 years of driving before any thing major breaks.
