My engine light came on went to get it diagnosed and they said it might be the transmission i don't see anything different but i don't know does anyone know about these Chevy transmissions please advise thanks.
Johnf, if your CHECK ENGINE light came on that would indicate a problem related to the emission control system. It could be something as simple as an oxygen sensor or a loose gas cap. If the On-Board Diagnostic system threw a fault code, what was it? A poor performing engine could cause rough shifting but that doesn't mean it is time for transmission work. Find a mechanic you can trust and have it checked out. I'd stay away from dealerships and transmission specialists until the problem was correctly diagnosed.
For all you cargo van owners I recommend purchasing a ScanGauge. ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool
The ScanGauge is a code reader, m.p.g. information center and can display 4 of several different gauge functions at once. I have the large old style ScanGauge velcroed to my dash. It can easily be removed for connecting to another vehicle to access fault codes and reset the CHECK ENGINE light. Use it twice for reading codes and it will have paid for itself.
Moot ,the check engine light on the 2007 Express can show a transmission code to.
I just dropped it off at a transmission shop actually AAMCO why do you say not to? Are they going to try to rip me off?
Related to a direct problem with the transmission?
Did you re-check the transmission fluid level at that point ?i checked the oil and it was a little low so i put a little bit in. They reset the engine light and went on my way drove about 200 miles no problem then picked up a load 700 pounds 5 minutes later the light came on again.

If you go to a transmission specialist and say you think there is something wrong with your transmission, you are going to get a new transmission. Even if the problem was a bad U-joint, you will get a new transmission and the U-joint will get replaced for free.I never heard to be a problem solved with a flush. Trust me, if you had a problem you still have it now. Will come on in the future....
