There is some truth to your post Skyraider. However I am NOT going to vote FOR more of the same, or worse. I haven't since 1992, and I just hope that some day there will be enough of the American voters to stand up to the lesser of two evils and turn our nation back around to what is good for the people. Jesus may come back first, and I am OK with that too, but voting in favor of corruption just isn't in my DNA any longer...

I think the key to taking back our government and having a person you prefer running for one of the 2 parties is baby steps. The Communists and Marxists slowly took over the Democratic party and made it mainstream with only a few from that party even realizing it. The same could be done with the Republican party but with Libertarian candidates, the Tea Party tried doing it to fast and it scared people.

Another part of the problem is that MOST of those who want to 'fix' this are touting 'quick fixes'. It took a hundred years or so to get into this mess, it cannot be fixed in 5. It will take decades of hard work and long term planning for things to work out. We have to start teaching self reliance again. The mess they gave us by creating the dependent class is going to take a LONG time to undue.

Oh I agree shooter... But the first step really does need to cut off the head. In 1992 we got about half way through the neck, but it still lived. We must kill it this time!

Cutting off the head first is the exact wrong way to achieve your goals. Without a congress in place that type of leader is helpless. A first step is voting without that your ****ing in the wind.

It is more like a cancer, a cancer that has spread though out the entire body. It is going to take precise surgery, chemo and radiation to clean it out. There is no one 'head' to remove. It is not longer just the 'parties', it is the dependent class, they have become truly dependent. It is going to be a very hard, very long fix.

These two parties couldn't fix a dirty diaper without coming up with 1000 lawyers to write a 10,000 page piece of legislation that pays everyone except the person who actually changes the dirty diaper, and the final cost would be $100,000 to change the diaper, $10,000 to dispose of it, and $1000 for a new box of diapers.

And then, IF I were to vote for Romney, and he does as I expect, I would be 'responsible' for that too. I don't believe he will do much of anything different and likely continue, and even accelerate, many of Obama's policies that impact my life in a negative manner.

To my way of thinking no matter what I do, I lose. Mr. Romney is MORE than welcome to convince me other wise. I doubt that he will try.

With the addition of Ryan to the ticket, the message will become a lot clearer and more substantive. This should go a long way towards bring the debate back to the economy, the ineffective Obama policies and the conservative fiscal vision that Paul Ryan will bring into play for fixing it.
WORD OF CAUTION: listen to what HE has to say and read the bill that he and Sen. Ron Widen (D-OR) put before the House for a vote and passed with over 200 votes. Tune out the talking heads and the Democrat shills that claim it kills Medicare and Soc. Sec. In the final analysis the GOP ticket isn't perfect, but no such animal exists. A vote for Romney/Ryan changes the direction of the country. A vote for anyone else gives us 4 more years having a Socialist in office who vowed to fundamentally change our country - and that's a campaign promise he's intent on keeping.

I have to study more about Ryan. I don't listen to what EITHER party says about the bums they run. Ryan would be better in the front seat and Romney in the peanut gallery.

This country hasn't changed directions since Reagan, and I doubt very seriously that if Romney gets elected will produce little more than a curve of a few degrees.
