There always has to be a troll with no grasp of reality.
I've got to say - that's a pretty unfriendly post there LDB.

Do you disagree with my statement that more guns = more deaths or are you willing to buy me a nuclear weapon? :)

Gun crimes/deaths are down year to year according to the FBI while ownership is up, but what do they know.

Actually, you just modified your statement. Which is it? More guns = more GUN deaths, or more guns = more deaths. They are very different statements, and while one is true, the other is not.

It is true that more guns mean more gun deaths, but the same thing is true with any other object that be used as a weapon, including knives, baseball bats, fireplace pokers, you name it. For example, in houses where there is no fireplace and no fireplace poker, there are zero deaths from fireplace pokers.

I meant more guns = more gun deaths. And to be clear I mean gun deaths of any kind. When some little kid shoots his brother that's a gun death even though it didn't happen in the commission of a crime such as a break in.

"More guns = more death and I'm not a big fan of death. Anything that tries to curtail gun ownership is something I'm probably a fan of."

What are the ONLY two LEGAL ways to curtail private gun ownership? Neither of which have ever be used. All attempts have been made outside of the Constitution. Assuming you believe in the rule of law in this country are you willing to fight all extra-Constitutional means of curtailing private gun ownership? Are you willing to disarm the government first? Just wondering. Since governments are responsible for far more deaths, including ours, that private gun owners. The more the government steps outside the Constitution the more it becomes obvious that the Founding Fathers were wise to enumerate the Right to own and carry arms. They did not grant that right, our government can neither grant nor remove rights.

Far more kids are killed by cars than guns. Using your reasoning, cars must be outlawed before guns. The worst offenders go first.

In case you are wondering, gun accidents don't even rank in the top 5 leading causes of accidental death in the United States.

I spent a little time looking around and ended up on factcheck.org.

Gun Rhetoric vs. Gun Facts

They're all over the place on this issue. It's clear that one problem I'm going to have trying to prove that more guns = more gun deaths is the fact that all crime of any kind is down substantially. The Freakonomics crowd says it's due to legalized abortions but that's the subject of a whole 'nother thread.

I'll look again in the morning but I'm not optimistic that I can prove what I know to be simple common sense. Guns are such efficient killing machines that more of them in circulation = more gun deaths.

Cars are even more efficient killing machines. It is simple common sense, more cars = more car deaths. Cars are also a major contributor to the obesity problem. Since automobile accidents are the leading cause of accidental death it would make sense to outlaw them. No cars, no car deaths.

If I remember correctly traffic accidents account for around 75% of all accidental deaths for US teens.

You forgot how terrible for the environment. Cars are killing us all even when they aren't hitting us and killing us.

Take just the first two sentences and highlight them and put them in lights and let us stand back and appreciate the simple beautiful logic of it all!!! :)

Yes. The more of something dangerous that's floating around in the universe the more mishaps of all kinds there are stemming from that thing. You get it, my good man, you get it!

Not so much unfriendly as factual. The FBI should know what they are talking about so if you find numbers supporting your position they will contradict the FBI and presumably are wrong.
