I've got to say - that's a pretty unfriendly post there LDB.There always has to be a troll with no grasp of reality.
Gun crimes/deaths are down year to year according to the FBI while ownership is up, but what do they know.
Disarming Realities: As Gun Sales Soar, Gun Crimes Plummet - Forbes
The numbers are the same whether on Townhall or not but here's Forbes.
Actually, you just modified your statement. Which is it? More guns = more GUN deaths, or more guns = more deaths. They are very different statements, and while one is true, the other is not.Do you disagree with my statement that more guns = more deaths or are you willing to buy me a nuclear weapon?
I meant more guns = more gun deaths. And to be clear I mean gun deaths of any kind. When some little kid shoots his brother that's a gun death even though it didn't happen in the commission of a crime such as a break in.
You'll find something incorrect to support your position somewhere.
I spent a little time looking around and ended up on factcheck.org.
Gun Rhetoric vs. Gun Facts
They're all over the place on this issue. It's clear that one problem I'm going to have trying to prove that more guns = more gun deaths is the fact that all crime of any kind is down substantially. The Freakonomics crowd says it's due to legalized abortions but that's the subject of a whole 'nother thread.
I'll look again in the morning but I'm not optimistic that I can prove what I know to be simple common sense. Guns are such efficient killing machines that more of them in circulation = more gun deaths.
Cars are even more efficient killing machines. It is simple common sense, more cars = more car deaths. Cars are also a major contributor to the obesity problem. Since automobile accidents are the leading cause of accidental death it would make sense to outlaw them. No cars, no car deaths.
