That's funny right there.
You have no idea
My opinion about Carson is that he misremembered the two events twenty years prior. It was more about understanding that someone could do that instead of just implying that he is a liar.
Yes, I know.

BTW I initially defended the liberal news guy Brian Williams. Gave him the benefit of the doubt, but there was just too much of a pattern in the end.
Oh if you look at Carson a little closer you'll see quite the pattern there of tall tales, most of which, coincidentally, cannot be confirmed or refuted. I hate to quote The Church Lady, but isn't that conveeeenient.

No. I'm not getting the Vanilla Ice reference. Did he claim that Suge Knight dangled him by his ankles off a ledge in a high rise?
Yes! Except it was from a palm tree in the Miami hood, and when he wasn't being dangled from hood trees he was being stabbed so many times that he lost half his body's blood on a regular basis. It was hard growing up in the mean streets of Miami.

Especially since he was raised in the Dallas suburbs by obscenely wealthy parents and his gunshot and knife "'street scars" were all from motocross accidents while competing on the junior amateur circuit. He was one miraculously saved from a certain death when someone stabbed him in the belly, but the knife broke off on his belt buckle.

Yes, yes. As we speak, the liberal media is feverishly digging to find the recipient of the knife attack that hit his belt buckle or trying to get an exclusive interview with his ailing mother about that hammer attack.
Keep digging. You eventually find it Turtle. No, not there...over there.

kinda confused here, are you a carson "apologist" or a trump "apologist"?...lol
Cruz is probably my first choice. I'm not an apologist for either one.
Regarding this topic though, Trump is making a mistake in referencing the discredited Politico piece as way to go after Carson. Only a day earlier he was criticizing Politico as a having dishonest people at their 'news' site. Not a good political move by Trump.

You keep pointing that out like it's important. Vigorously grasping, vigorously defending.
You keep pointing it out ( the use of the word 'scholarship') as some sort of deception by Carson. As a 'smoking gun' fact that proves Carson is fibbing, because he should 'know better', when it has been used before even by West Point. The ultimate of grasping by you.

Did you read the book?
In 2009 after I watched the TV movie, yes.
His character was formed by being offered to go to West Point? And deciding not to go?
It was such a significant life event that he wasn't even tempted to go there. He chose to go in to medicine instead.
No, being offered a scholarship to West Point, and then turning it down, did very little in and of itself to form his character, according to Carson. It was the day as a whole that did that. Being the top ROTC student in the whole city, leading the Memorial Day Parade, meeting Westmoreland and the two CMH recipients, and then being invited to eat dinner with Westmoreland and the two CMH recipients, and at dinner having Westmoreland and other Army brass fawn over him and offer him a scholarship to West Point is what helped firm his character. It proved to him that his instincts were right and that he should continue to stand firm and listen to himself, and that his arrogance about a great many things was an asset rather than a liability. I'm sure the movie is easy enough to find online. I know the e-book is easily found on all the torrent sites for quick and easy downloading.

It's not ultimate grasping - it's right there for anyone to see. It didn't prove that he was fibbing, it proves that, because he should know better, and uses the term anyway to make him appear more special that he was, that he embellished the story to make himself look good. One thing all surgeons have in common is arrogance to spare, as it takes a snotload of arrogance to cut into another human being. And Carson is no exception. Carson's ego pities and laughs at Trump's ego.

Did you know that his house is a virtual shrine to Ben Carson, with pictures and awards and certificates galore, complete with a hand painted portrait of Carson WITH Jesus? He's Jesus' right hand man. Literally.

Sounds like his house looks like the home of most any hall of fame football star, except the portrait might be with Bear Bryant or Vince Lombardi. Seriously though, doctors and politicians are worse egomaniacs than pro or college athletes, and considered by many to be sociopaths. Our culture allows them to bury their mistakes, whether it's due to incompetence in situations like Benghazi, botched abortions or just plain old misdiagnosis or bad training. In Carson's case he can definitely claim an unusual list of significant accomplishments, more so than most of his political opponents. One still has to wonder why he wants to enter politics.

The West Point 'scholarship' misunderstanding is easy enough to overlook, it could happen to anyone - but the pattern of misunderstandings [and denials of scientific facts] are really piling up.
Personally, the belief that the Egyptian pyramids were used to store grain [by Joseph, from the Bible] ought to be a red flag the size of Texas: the man believes what he chooses, and facts be damned.
The importance of his religion is another cause for concern: as Turtle pointed out, any crisis that happened from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday might have to wait. That's pretty scary, IMO.

not trying to bust your bubble or anything, but certainly you know that Cruz is the craziest lunatic out there now, he is so far out that even his fellow Tea Party and Repub politicians even ignore him now...lol, maybe it was due to his upbringing? born and raised in Canada to Mexican immigrants? poor guy did not have a chance in life to play well with others...
