I'm so glad in the 2 year I drove a van I didn't go to Laredo or El Paso. Went to Houston a few times but never those places....does that mean I wasn't a real vanner???

Nope. I was fortunate to get a load the times I was in El Paso and most of the times in Laredo. But that's when rates were much better than now.
Not worth the risk most of the time now. ELP not quite as bad as Laredo. But still.......

We were going to plaster logos until we remembered the loads where the broker tells us "MUST PICK UP AS XYZ TRUCK".
Some broker/carriers/customers are still not comfortable with the thought of THEIR carrier not having 17,774 trucks all over the country to serve them.
Some Landstar loads are posted with the notes saying unit must not have decals. I guess Landstar doesn't want their customers to find out they're double brokering the loads. Sometimes it pays to fly under the radar!

The al nighters are the best! Low traffic cooler temps no bright sun in your eyes while driving
Ya, Last night was nice coming down here on the backroads with no traffic and high beams on.
Fog is burnin off now in these hills. Got a good 6 hours sleep and did use my heater.
This Co. Just told me someone would be here at 7 to unload me.
I'll grab some MCD's Coffee and a sandwich, potty n feed Mags and head to Center Hill Lake or Silver Point and see if there's anything good to Paint while I wait for "The Call". Hope there's a little Marina.
Smack dab in between Nashville and Knoxville - approx. 100 miles either way.
Oh, and Good Morning All! Another Beauty out!
