Sorry to hear about the problems. I've found that when you're on a lucky streak and the streak runs out, your luck usually craters. Just so you don't feel alone, I'll bring you up to date on the "International" story.
It's still pumping oil into the coolant. Presently on it's 7th oil cooler. It's sitting up at DRS in pieces. Put it out of service and moved the driver over to another truck.
Spent most of Thursday and Friday going back and forth with International. The dealer in Monroe replaced the front cover assembly back in March saying that was the problem and that it was fixed. Beki found out that there were parts charged out against the work order that were not installed or billed. Field rep for International has forbidden me to bring the truck back to the dealer in Monroe. He shouldn't have said that.
I insisted that his boss call me, which he did last night. This guy was a corporate flunkie that knew nothing. Said the truck was old (2004) and that it had a lot of miles on it (275,000) and that I should rebuild the engine or replace it with a International reman. I said so if I went out tomorrow and paid $130k plus for a new Prostar or Lonestar I can only expect 275,000 miles before I have to rebuild or replace the engine? I just wanted to confirm that he was calling Internationals junk! He had no response other than to tell me that International was, in effect, not standing behind the repairs they performed.
So, I'll be filing complaints with the Michigan Attorney General's office as well as the BBB. From there, the attorney can take over. Beki is getting me a cost estimate for a yard engine so I can start putting back (Ha Ha) money to repair it.
No Ken, you're not alone. Crap is everywhere.
Do you have Denny Kessemberger's phone #? He is the reginal rep for the cleveland/toledo area for international, and is a fair guy.He did wonders for me when I had my 4900.
