Goslow the layover pay is per person also. My husband and I drive straight truck team. So that $150.00 a day for the two days.
Gotta love it!

My two tours with Bolt Express, Dispatch always told the dead head, mileage to destination and the amount they were offering. If it was acceptable it was then sent over the Qual Com.
Unfortunately they failed to tell me on my last trip I could be baby sitting the load through that night and the next day & night.

9 times out of 10, I get that info over the phone before it is even sent over the QC..Now that being said I am at a point with Load 1 that is is becooming a "non issue"...they have not even hinted at offering me anything that I would even think about turning down because of the rate of pay....

Yes, you are so right. It is so nice to have the faith and trust in dispatch and the company as well. And if a load happens to pay less than normal? So what.Look at all John has done for us, and the concern for a lower paying load goes away.It is nice to have that peaceful, easy feeling.

One correction tho..our straights get $75 a day for 2 days...
By my calculations 300 miles by say 9 mpg is 33.33 gals at $4.00 a gal =133.33
Now .50 x300 =$150 plus your $75....that is $225 for the move of 300 miles...That is approx $82 in your pocket minus your drive time

Holy crap!! .50 cpm? that is way high....

And just think....there are some cheap freight rate :censoredsign: companies out there who think they are doing their o/o's a favor at offering them .50 cpm loaded rates.. and there are those stupid enough to take that crap.

With some carrier fees and carrying a large note on the sprinter I can almost see them numbers...

BTW you can collect the DH pay while moving during the paid layover time. you don't have to sit the 2 days and then move

I know it is offered to me, the layover time pay, but there are alot of times I start the sitting time later than my drop-off time, or simply dont put it in at all.I think dispatch has to answer to why we are sitting when we collect the layover pay, but not sure. But anyway, I feel dispatch is doing the best they can, and cannot simply pull loads out of their ***,so why add to their stress? I have the upmost faith in them, and it seems to work. Now, if I have a good week, I dont collect. But if it a slow week, then chances are I am more likely to collect.I think I just contradicted myself here....lol

The whole idea is to keep them under pressure...the clock is ticking...the motivation not to play computer games while supposedly working like some other carriers that go into babysitting mode in the off hours...that is why we get loads at 9pm in the weekdays and a lot of Saturday pick-ups...when they say they are actively looking, they really are...If John pays out too much money he'll kick their butts and get them looking harder...*LOL*

Guido,
I wouldn't call them stupid. Some people just can't do anything about it. Not everybody can go to Load1.
