At the TA in Baltimore, Maryland. Raining, and expecting storms today. The roads that lead to this establishmenst are pot hole lined. It was possibly the worst road driven on so far.
Hope dispatch gets us a load out of here very soon.
Really not liking the east coast.

I am home only 2 miles from you. That road is really bad. I think they are going to start work on it. Bout time. There is a Royal Farms fuel stop 1/3 mile from there if you need fuel. Go out the crater road and t/l at the light. Also takes you to 95 s. At the 3rd light turn right. The truck fuel island is behind the store.
Usually .20 to .25 per gal cheaper than the TA.

Your best bet, hire a vet! Please.

Dispatch called with a shortie picking up at 1600 in the burbs of Chicago going to Saginaw mi.

They said I'd be doing them a huge favor as the first out driver turned it down and they didn't want to turn it back to the customer.

I hope they can get me out of Saginaw or I'm really shooting myself in the foot here! I took the load as I feel I would be hurting everyone turning back loads in this current period. I just wish everyone would realize what it's like out there right now. This a great load for a solo driver not so good for a team truck going into Thursday with only 1765 loaded miles. Not to mention after I agreed to this load to help I had to turn down a run to Texas which would have been great! LOL that's how it goes.

Xiggi did you get your van fixed?

To answer those that asked, the sprinter tech at the dealer is out until Thursday so I have a morning appt. I found another place that could do it this morning but the phone conversation just did not give me that warm fuzzy felling so I decided to wait. Worked out ok doing some web site edits for a client so still making some dollars while out of service. Things just have a way of working out.

Answered from the luxurious Load 1 drivers lounge.

We wish we had 1700 some loaded miles going into Thursday. Right now we have less than 500 total miles for this week. We need a load asap.

We are at the Pilot in Hagerstown, MD. We were in Baltimore, MD last. We decided to go the Antietam Battlefield.

After reading what I typed it sounds like I'm complaining....lol not how I meant that to sound lol. Sorry if I sounding like I was complaining lol.

The point I was trying to make was someone turning down loads that dispatch worked hard to get for them is not the best thing to be doing in the current economic situation!

What goes around comes around! KARMA lol

I didn't think you were complaining Shadow, but I'm glad you made the point about turning down loads.

Since the highlight of my day for the past 5 weeks has been breakfast, I'd kill to be able to accept a load from Taylor to Romulus.:)

Shadow, I didn't hink you were complaining either. We believe the same thing. Dispatch is working hard to get the loads. I don't think people should be turning them down. I know if it is going to cost you to run the load it is hard to accept it. But I know from experience that dispatch normally pays very well on the loads so take some of these short not as productive loads to keep things going is the right thing to do. It has been very difficult for us these past two weeks because we haen't gotten very profitable loads at all, but what we do get we take. We know dispatch is trying hard. A couple of the loads we most likely just broke even, but we have gotten loads in the past that were way over the top. So give and take, makes it all go around.

Well we decided to go eat at the Olive Garden in Hagerstown, MD. Then wet to Sam's and parked to wait for a load. Quieter than the truck stop. If we are still here tomorrow we just down the street from the Crazyhorse Steakhouse, that Chef Dennis told us about we will go there tomorrow evening,if we are still around. Although I would rather have to make another trip back to try it and get a load out of here soon.
