Guido,
I wonder what the options were on the Spartan and the curb weight too. I found one at a liquidation sale a month ago that was 10k gvw but the truck was heavy, leaving me with less than 2200lbs for cargo.

Re: vehicle dynamics change in perspective

Jack, you getting any better freight, with the extra room?
Can't tell by the pic on the tanker, but does it have a lot of over-hang from the rear axle to bumper and if so,how's the ride? After it's all and done what's your GVW or unlaiden weight that E-1 got?

Hey Jack

Spoke with the dealership earlier today. They also have a handfull of the 10 cylinder's for about $1,000-$1500 more than you paid. Whats your opinion on that particcular motor ? I understand the MPG's are real close to the 5.4, but also hearing stories of the 10 running in excess of 1/2 million miles.

Also he said he has a handfull of units with a few more toys. Camereas and interior upgrades for an additional $2,500.00. Did you by chance take a look at those ?

Thanks

14 wheeler....don't know anything about the v-10. try here

Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - Ford truck and SUV owners and enthusiasts Community And Information Source.

performance, engines, troubleshooting/modular v10

looked at the units on the mitsu/kia lot north of the nissan plant. did not look at others. remember to get the cruise steering wheel installed. this paying attention to ones speed is taking away from our nap time.

comet it is an e-350 underneath the aero top. same ride with a tad:eek: more sway in the wind. gracie and i are working on our seamanship badges this past couple weeks. learning to tack into the wind.
:D comet the specs for e-1 are in post 12.

Jack, you know I just can't let that go by. Might I suggest Home : Airtab to assist with that problem. ;)

I will eventually put them on my van in the near future as well, hear they really help stability.Installing the air-ride setup for the van tomarrow. This is really worth the money, as far as I'm concered.

Well,I just went for broke and did the sway bar up-grade and spring helpers to see if that will take most of that (driving a boat on a windy day feeling) away.(07'Sprinter)

Nice van Jack! Are the extended sidewalls and roof made of fiberglass? Do the extended doors, latch and seal tight where they meet the new roof and side panels?

storage over the cab for 2 x clothes, 1 extra clothes and 1 x knitting projects. the qc will hopefully be installed here somewhere.

Were you able to mount the QC in the cubbyhole above the cab and get a satellite signal?

More questions to follow. Please keep us updated.

extension is fiberglass. i have not checked with a magnet but i believe the ribs are also glass.

doors lock well but the side door allows air in. when we were sleeping on this trip to ca it was very cool back there. gracie added some furniture pads to stop door rattling. working on a better seal for the air leaks.

qc is on the shelf above the driver. it is digital so no dome.
