I guess it really boils down to what people's personal preferences and objectives are, right? Some like the SHORTS and to be home more often on a more frequent basis. Some want the long miles to maximize their gross while they're running, then go home for 3 - 5 days, or more. Some find themselves with homes in the midpoint of the eastern half of the U.S. and have a good blend of both. Some have high payments. Some have low payments. Some have not payments. Some accrue for maintenance, some do not. Some pay others to manage the accruals for their enterprise. Some bought wisely. Some bought poorly. Yadda, yadda.
Any way you look at it, there is a gut feel and personal attraction mechanism that draws us to the organizations that we follow. For some it's L.O. (J. Elliot, you're a class act), others it's the Black Feline, etc., etc. We must respect those elements of personal attraction.
ASE truly works it's tail off, rooter-to-tooter to keep our guys moving 24/7/365 - and everyone is an individual with personal visibility here. And that's not to say that doesn't happen elsewhere, but we take pride in the FACT that we are not a churn mill with any mode of equipment, and our O/O's are not three to twenty deep at any popular (or unpopular) destination. We take pride in the FACT that we are experiencing the best retention that we have ever experienced, and we are GROWING FORWARD.
I/we live this business - and we're continuously innovative as a result. Period. To all, a great weekend...whether you are in TN or FL...
If you are curious about the way we do business, please call anyone in our organization (including myself). If you have something nice to say about us, by all means, please bring it. If you have something negative to say about us, please let me know so I can 5-Why this/these issue/issues - because we want to be better - and we won't if we don't address the valid negatives or areas for continuous improvement.
KAIZEN!
