I remember reading about a newly privatized toll road somewhere in America, and thought it was 470 around Denver, but went looking online to see if that was it. Couldn't quickly find proof of that, but did find the following info.
There are toll roads in the US that have been privatized, but as
this article shows, some aren't too keen on adopting the idea. And the US Senate has
approved a measure to discourage privatization of US toll roads.
And the proposed bridge from MI to CAN is supposed to be funded largely by a private organization, isn't it, in exchange, at least partly for having their own toll booths? I'm not quite up on that.
The USPS may come up with a new model and improve if privatized.
Though, as we've seen over and over, anything that involves too much change, especially if implemented too rapidly, the citizenry will squawk and p*** and moan 'til the cows come home. Everything is just too big sometimes, that it is ****ed near impossible to reach a consensus on anything, much less please everyone.
I'm all for regions, whether it be states, counties, or cities, implementing privatization in ways that work
for that area but that may be foolish to try in another area, where any number of factors may complicate things.
