That does look bigger than previous pics I've seen.

Wondering what the deal is with those funky windows.. looks like a vertical bar of some kind.. rest of the van looks pretty sharp tho, and comparable in size to my Sprinter.
Dale

Those are definite vertical bars. It looks like a giant, old fashioned, "wind" glass with very narrow window glass. Not sure what the reasoning behind that would be?

I think the spec sheet is in this thread somewhere too. The dimensions shown are very similiar to the pre-07 Sprinters....14' floor space. Who knows, they may lengthen it over time too? Personally, all things considered,I have come to like the 14' vans...even in the Sprinter.

The part in front of the vertical bar is fixed glass for visibility and the part behind the bar rolls up and down. It had to be split because the wheel is in the way and blocks the front part from rolling down.

Get you're facts straight. The only diesel engine that Ford ever built is the new 6.7. All of the others were made by International.

The old engine, so I understand, was designed by Cat though, It was manufactured by Intl in the plant Ford bought, and leased back to them, in Indinapolis.

Hmm.. a turbocharged 5 cyl diesel.. sound vaguely familiar LOL..

The new 3.2-liter diesel is already in the Ford Ranger sold in all regions except North America and is rated in Europe as delivering 197 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque.

Power sounds decent.

With the initial efficiency plus what can be done with Heartthrob exhausts, tuners and intakes combining with long term maintenance costs I think I'd rather have the Ecoboost engine than the diesel.

It looks good enough for me to maybe start liking Ford products....

You think they'd put the 6.7 Powerstroke diesel in there. I realize they're generally not as well regarded as the Duramax diesel, but seems like the 6.7 (used in Ford pickups) would be more appropriate muscle for a vehicle the size of the new Transit, no?

Too heavy and wide.

Great. Now the only thing left is for Ford to offer a 6 speed manual transmission and I would have to part with my beloved sprinter and get one of these.

They have to sell it for less than the Sprinter. Maybe 40k.
