To my knowledge,Des Plains was never an express ctr. Before they did away with all of the Chicago express centers (there were 4)and left only Elk Grove Village,there was also Lincolnwood,Bedford Park,and South Holland.

The ONLY time we are EVER at a t/s is for fuel,other than that it's a wally world or some other shopping area parking lot. Those truckstops are dangerous places,one wrong move from a billybigrigger trying to park his truck,and you are out of business.

It amazes me that anyone would buy anything at a t/s,unless you were using your fuel points. Much better deals can be found just about anywhere else at the national chain stores,and much easier to exchange.I'm just sayin'.

The Lowe's across the street has plenty of parking,and it don't cost nothing.

That's not very many miles for a set of truck tires. We purchased a set of Michelins for our truck last Nov.,they have 75,000 miles on them now and have lots of tread left. We are expecting well over 200,000 miles from them,unless some abnormal wear pattern sets in.

We were in Laredo last week,it was 105 but the humidity was only 29%. It was still miserably uncomfortable tho'.

When your teams win any type of championship,it is an open invitation to burn the town down and get a new pair of shoes and a tv set. We have been waiting a long time to burn Cleveland,and I haven't had a new pair of sneakers or a tv in quite awhile.

mhoy I ain't no professor,just a lowly surface fleet D unit o/o with 7 years time in with the Fed. In those 7 years I have not been able to fully understand what the different locks are for,but one thing I do know is that I do not like them and always call in to find out why we are on a lock...

Yes,the neat receipts scanner works great. We have even used it to scan our run paperwork and e-mailed it to the Fed to beat the end of the pay period deadline.:D
