    heat in cargo van

Well here's a question: I have a 2006 Sprinter that came equipped from the factory with the Heater Booster - this unit is basically an Espar D5 engine coolant heater. It is used as a supplement heater to raise the coolant temp when the (cold-blooded) Sprinter is running in cold ambient temps...

    Raising the garage

My guess is that while it would probably be relatively easy to find someone to do it (raise it) you're going to find it fairly expensive ...... I could be wrong tho'. I dunno that I'd rip anything down (can never have too much storage space) .... but like Greg says putting up a polebarn might...

    2006 SPRINTER

My son's 2004 with 137K had the engine light come on about a week or two ago, finally got it in to the dealer on Monday - it was the Mass Air Flow sensor - the same thing that went bad on my 2006 - unfortunately his wasn't under warranty ..... $740.00

    Cents Per Loaded Mile (CPLM)

Steve, just remember,in business it takes money to make money, that dead head you talk about is the money it takes to make it out here Yeah .... I know that it's less than the ideal situation. But like I said, until we actually get running I don't have a handle on the exact numbers. Hopefully...

Ken, I'm very familiar with that paradigm. Looks like we'll probably go with Door No. 2. ;)

    Expediting is a Business

Do you really believe that they should be responsible for your success or failure? Well ultimately each individual is responsible for his or her own success or failure ..... Having said that, I would still answer the question you pose above in the affirmative - yes they are responsible ... at...

how upset would you get and what would you do

Doc, Thanks for your comments. That means that the interest lost on the advances is less than the interest gained on the pay held back. Outstanding point - and one I hadn't considered - thanks for pointing it out. This point, as well as the issue that Leo raised about what the actual annual...

    Sprinter Cargo Securement

Ken, Rain sensor - check. Understand on the fresh air - once upon a time I travelled around doing roadside sales and slept in the truck while on the road ...... remember some summer nights that were pretty unbearable - kinda like being in an oven. There maybe an rooftop A/C unit in the future...

    Sprinter Cargo Securement

Thanks Moot, Yeah, there are what amounts to cable troughs on the top of the sidewalls ..... where the wiring harness for the cargo area lights run. I've left a small channel open in the trough all the way back on the righthand side of the vehicle, where I installed the cable for my backup...

    Expediting is a Business

Rich, I talked to one of my sons' drivers last night about the insurance when I ferried him down to pick up his truck from the shop. He's actually an ex-contractor (my son bought his route from him and he now just drives) - he's been around for 4 years or thereabouts ... so he outta know. He...

    Sprinter Cargo Securement

I've driven it a couple of times since I started putting the insulation in and it is starting to get a little quieter. On the Espar, yeah ..... I was thinking of installing it myself .... will probably depend on whether I can find a good "cash-n-carry" deal on one or not. Espar says they are...

how upset would you get and what would you do

Doc, Let me first preface my comments - if I were having to pay a 5% fee for advances I wouldn't take 'em - unless I was being paid a very, very good rate - or unless my own financial planning was so bad that I had but to take them. Even then, I'd sure be looking to wean myself off in a hurry...

    Sprinter Cargo Securement

Figured it out ..... file was too large. I used several different foamboard adhesives to hold the pieces up - Loctite Power Grab for foamboard, some stuff in a yellow tube from Lowes, and my favorite - PL300. The PL300 was thicker and a little more tacky than the other two. I also applied...

Ken, I can see the picture now. Looks like you're trying to keep the CIA or space aliens from reading your thoughts. ;) You get any ribbing about it ? It looks great tho' - like it was vacuum-applied. :) I'll try givin' the basket a whack and see what happens. I've seen a Sprinter...

I don't see how a maintenance escrow of some sort ...... that is fully funded by the beneficiaries could be detrimental beyond the administration costs of same. Well lemme see if I can shed some light on the maintenance account aspect .... are you really sure that you want someone hanging onto...

Greg is correct on the fuel - Fedex Ground and Home Delivery, which is a Division of Ground - and does "sell" fuel to it's contractors - it is deducted from the contractor's settlements weekly. However a couple of things: 1. In Home Delivery's case (only one I know about for sure since my son...

Hey Ken, Looks like the image didn't get linked or attached. I'd really love to see your "mega-desk" ...... it would be nice to have all that storage space available. This might be something I'll look at doing down the road depending on how things develop. For now I planning leaving the seat...
