Tucker Carlson defends Truck Driver in Tracy Morgan crash

I agree. There have been a few occasions where I was going to pass something I wanted to see but once I actually got to it the road or traffic conditions dictated that I couldn't even get a glance in. It sucked, but I'd rather live to have a chance to see it again some day.

    Long deadheads

Short loads are bad now. Are y'all putting in counter offers on these loads? Even though they aren't accepting them or are u just declining?

    They DRIVE among us...

Maybe he had a 20,000 lb front axle and an isuzu npr everything else. That might let him haul 30,000.

Non-committal???? If a run don't happen dry run pay gets paid. I've had runs cancel an hour after I've taken it and only gotten a few miles down the road and they still pay dry run for the little bit of my time they've used.

    Proheat/ComfortPro? with Roof Air Conditioning

I'm thinking of doing this on my next truck purchase, just buy a comfortpro with out the ccu and get a roof top air. The stand alone has a 6,000watt generator. Should be sufficient in a 96" sleeper I think.

I heard dod will be business as usual. If that's not the case I imagine most dry boxes will bounce to panther or leam. They both do lots of dod work and pay their trucks for the work.

    Massive career change...

Depends. A lot of people feel stuck doing this from when it was great. It's a very different lifestyle than what most people do. A gypsy loves being a gypsy. I'd hate it. A lot of people have bought vans/sprinters/trucks and hated it or not made the money they thought they would or get into it...

    Cargo Van Dodge ProMaster

My toyota tundra did the same thing. All the "manual shift" was useful for was keeping it out of the 6th gear on little hills. This kept it from shifting between 5 & 6 repeatedly. But other than that it would still do whatever it felt it needed to do. Does any auto give the driver real manual...

My Driver got in Accident, carrier most likely will release.... What to do next?

2800 miles a week per person is exhausting. I'm a team driver though. Maybe sleeping in a truck that isn't moving helps you rest better though.

    Profound Differences

We were told in orientation to never call the customer. If you needed to get in touch with them to call the dispatcher and have them talk to the customer or have a 3-way call with the customer. I did that a few times and the dispatchers made it pretty clear I shouldn't waste their time on such...

Hot spots & Places to avoid?

Unless your going cargo van route, I don't see a point moving. We live in south Louisiana and it's not a good freight area but as little as most expediters go home it's not a big deal. Dfw is good for fedex custom critical surface division, not sure about anyone else.
