Just wondering how all of you in straight trucks are doing. I know that January/February are 'slow' months, but is this January/February slower than normal? Dormant? We are down about 44% from last year and going down even more from the way this week is starting, so just wondering if it's bad...

Wow, that's great. Are you in a van or ST? My two straight trucks have had very little...one was down 44% from last January, which from what I hear, is happening to others, too.

The only issue I had with ES Finance is that you had to then work for ES which at that time meant Fedex....maybe things have changed. That was not always explained right up front, either.

I'd say my experience with them was mixed at best. Truck had issues that the shop should have been able to take care of, but was not able to; after repeated problems, sales came through and made good on finally getting the truck fixed, though it went through too much down time and lost loads...

I had big issues with a truck I bought from them last summer. They ended up spending quite a bit of money on something that should have been taken care of by their shop before the truck left the yard, but it was still costly and time consuming for me, too. The bill of sale had 'all systems...

I did this a long time ago, it was ok but in Chicago where I am, you spend most of your time in traffic so it takes a while to make any money. Plus, best make sure of your insurance situation...your normal car policy is likely not going to be valid as you're driving your car commercially...

You can probably get as many miles as you can drive with FedEx....and you could go broke doing it, too, though you could also do very well. Having a truck with them for about 8 months, the thing I learned is that it really is important that the drivers know what they're doing as far as where to...

Turned out to be a regen thing...again....thought those problems were over with. But, did a thorough cleaning and had to have the computer do a regen...and supposedly that took care of it, but we'll see.

Drove 45 miles out to Hampshire, IL and got to see Kevin (3057) for about 5 minutes. He got a load that picked up at McCormick Center in Chicago going to Philly just before I got out to the TA where he was staying....so, got to see the KW, which is looking good, for a few minutes, anyway, but...
