CB Radio Voices Following Me Around

Amen! I was glad to have a CB in my 4 wheeler in the late 70's, but I learned to keep my mouth shut - a female voice made the morons get even stupider, if that's possible. I didn't have one again until I started to drive a t/t a few years ago, and they hadn't got any more intelligent, either...

Two Great Years; Looking Forward to More

I'd like to add my "Congratulations!" to the chorus, and add that I'm not surprised by your intention to teach - every post you've contributed here is a testament to your desire to share what you've learned. You'll be great teachers, and I hope you're blessed with students who want to learn...

    OOIDA challenge

I joined a few weeks ago, (who would have thought I coulda saved $20 by procrastinating?!), because I view OOIDA in these two distinct ways: I need them, and they need me. Whether you are an O/O or a driver, you need someone to speak for you in Washington - and the more people OOIDA speaks for...

    Con-Way Truckload

I drive for ConWay Now, and get the occasional call from a dispatcher for ConWay full load - sounds like the same to me - maybe it was an old trailer? :) Cheri

    HELP!!!! MIAMI, FL

For my money, I'd have to agree with the A Team's suggestion: Walmart. It's often my first choice, because it's: secure, less expensive than truckstops, I've never been hassled about parking there, (even when I drove a semi)' and they sell large mapbooks of the whole USA, with every Wallyworld...

    E Track/sleeper unit

A few weeks ago, a reader asked where to have E Track installed (topic 1473). One response was from Richard, in Romeo, Mi, who offered to email pictures of the installation of E Track & a sleeper unit on his van. After seeing the pictures myself, I contacted Richard & arranged for him to do the...

    Hobbies on the road.

Pappy: looking forward to your website! Because I have found music to be an excellent companion on the road - it can wake me up, calm me down, make me feel happy/sad/nostalgic/ALIVE! Now, if only I could sing.....:) :) :)

Drivers With Spouse and Small Children At Home

I have no spouse at home, (recently divorced), and no small children, (I couldn't do this with small ones), but I do have a 15 yr old daughter. (She remained with her dad, he kept the house & the dogs, & I sure do miss the dogs!) We keep in touch by phone, text messaging, pix via cell phone, I...

All those cross's on the sides of the highway

I used to wonder how come people could get so many DUIs, and why they were able to keep driving drunk, and I finally decided that maybe it's the only "crime" that the police, judges, and politicians could imagine themselves committing? And they wouldn't want to be judged too harshly for just...

    Bad Drivers

Doug, when you talk to the insurance rep again, you could point out the fact that a closed head injury may not even look like "a few little scratches" - it might look like no injury at all - but it can be severe & lasting brain damage. Which she already knows, of course, but she will try to...

    Bad Drivers

Raceman;if you got the impression I was trashing you, I apologize> I really am glad for the chance to talk to other drivers. I do try to be more careful in writing than talking, because it's permanent! But as far as being PC - I couldn't care less. And I'm ok with people disagreeing with me...

    Bad Drivers

    >Cheri, you captured that very well. Alittle to PC for me but >caputured and right on none the less. > >Raceman >OTR O/O Oh boy - a dialogue! Thanks, Raceman. Even the part about "a little too PC" is good, because a lot of my opinions aren't. Like telling my 15 yr old daughter to go ahead &...

Please welcome our newest Moderator.. LDB!!

Way to go, Leo! I don't know anything more than I've read in the forums, but the minute I read your tagline, I thought you're a winner! Best of luck to you.:) :) :)

    Bad Drivers

I think cell phones are not the biggest problem - it's what they represent that is so dangerous. Namely, that driving is something you can do while doing something else at the same time. Even those of us who have been driving longer than teenagers have been alive need to consider driving safely...

    More Posters please

Busted - now I have to admit that I read everything because I like to read and have been a "bookworm" (which doesn't translate well to the 'puter - who wants to be a 'puter worm?!) all my life. Since y'all asked for it, I will throw out a topic on which I could use some advice. And a variety of...

    More Posters please

OK, you guilt-tripped me into posting....Like Diesel, I have been expediting since January, co-driving with an o/o, and now I'm preparing to be an o/o. So I have a lot more questions than answers (and one that comes to mind is: why do expediters stay at truck stops? I drove a semi for awhile...
