    Incredible

Lou - I can't stand it, I gotta ask: do you do anything, besides find cool stuff for our entertainment?! Because you do it so well, I don't see where you find the time to do anything else, lol. ;)

    My Florida trip, part ii

Terriffic post! You didn't mention one of my personal favorite activities, though: watching the tourists go barefoot, & discover sandspurs! (Simple pleasures are the best, lol) As for your wife being mad - if you've been married longer than 5 minutes, you oughta know there are times when you...

Thanks to everyone who contributed really good ideas - I especially like the wasp spray (which I might have to use for it;s intended purpose on my van, as they do nest behind the outside mirrors.) I only hope that if I ever need to use it against a bad guy, I will be calm enough to point it at...

    Con-Way drivers and the fsc

Seems to me that with every load paying the same, the loads to turn down now are the ones going out of the freight zones - can't afford to deadhead very far, hoping it will even out with a high paying load. I know I'm making less money the last few months, but I'll hang in & see how it goes when...

Well, there goes your invitation to Hilary's Inauguration! :P Really, Leo, aren't you exaggerating just a wee bit? Some of us leftist liberal types actually believe that the men who wrote the Constitution knew what they were talking about, and they included the right to bear arms for a good...

    The down side of expediting

I'm sure TheOldProf is a lot quicker with the camera than the boomerang...(send pictures of Aborigines, if you get any!):+ BTW, TallCall - my aunt yelled at me for having Willie singing "On the road again" on my answering machine - she said it IS NOT FUNNY! Some people just have no sense of...

    SNOW & ICE

Oh yeah - when I set off the overheight signal on the turnpike, due to about a foot of snow on the trailer, the attendant told me to drive thru, then uturn & come thru again, which would knock the snow off. I did, & it worked - but I was charged the extra $30 when I exited - 4 hrs later! x(

    SNOW & ICE

I think, Tec, you might be mixing up 2 recent posts - mine, where I was fined $30 for being overheight on the Ohio Turnpike, and another driver who was given a $250 ticket for not scaling his van in Michigan, because they dropped the weight for pulling in to 5000 lbs, but didn't publicize the...

    Panhandlers and beggars

I know those arguments well, lol, - I've had them with myself. My marshmallow side feels sorry for anyone who is reduced to begging - but when the beggar is a male who doesn't have any obvious infirmities that would prevent him from working for a living, I get annoyed pretty quick. (Just as...

    RESEARCH--TRUCK STOPS

Using beepers to alert waiting drivers that a shower is available would be great, and if there were a way to get a massage, even just neck & shoulders, (oh yeah - & JoeBob's feet, too, he's weird that way), it would be wonderful. And don't forget the trees!:)

scales in michigan, and cargo vans

I was confused even before Michigan tossed this firecracker - my cargo van, which weighs 6300 lb, is titled as a van, but plated (in Ohio) as a truck. Are they deliberately trying to write rules so difficult to understand that it means whatever they say it means - this time? There sure is a...

    Blood pressure problems

"White coat syndrome" can be caused by nervousness, (perfectly understandable when your job may hang in the balance), and it can also be caused by anger (like I have when I've had to wait an hour to see the doctor). Blood pressure can be temporarily elevated by many other factors as well. and...

    Dirty Truckers

"Tolerance is a virtue" & I am pretty virtous - until your actions have a negative impact on my well-being, or that of my loved ones. After that, I'm not very nice anymore. That's who I am, & I'm too old to change now.....:o

    THE REST OF THE STORY

So, when we tune in tomorrow, will EO be calling itself "As the wheel turns?" Seriously - I checked out the other site for awhile, was even invited to write for them, but I think EO is just better all around. It looks like DD was expecting Lawrence to respond as teenagers do : "I don't like...

    Rejected Titles For Brokeback Mountain

Just a question for those who "poke fun" at gay people: do you also "poke fun" at people with physical deformities or handicaps?

    Bluetooth Headsets

Same goes for me - I recently got a Razr with the Bluetooth, but can't hear clearly over the highway noise, & find it aggravating to "tell" the phone to switch the Bluetooth off - it pretty much defeats the purpose of handsfree! The phone itself has one big advantage, though - it's flat enough...

Guys you need to lighten up

Last week, my teenage daughter dragged me to the mall, where I laughed out loud (& took a picture, too) at the perfect shirt for those who are fed up with drivers who have attitude: it has the FedEx logo, but says FedUp instead! (There was also one for UPS; Oops- we lost it again!)...
