    Repair Shops in Seville/Lodi

If you've ever seen JMJ trucks in the area, they are from the same place. They started as a trucking company and just doing their own maintenance and then branched out. I like them because they don't find all their answers in "the book". They think around corners and find workable...

    Question about air-tabs.

If you look at the pictures of Sprinters and squint your eyes they'll shrink down to van size. :p Do like Dan said and put them on both vertical sides and across the back of the roof. After you do your installation, send pictures and words to Airtabs and yours will be the FIRST cargo van on...

Event to cover FMCSA contact tips

OOIDA has added a driver survey to their HOS information page. They will be putting up a sample letter from the responses they get. This is an opportunity to get the voices heard of drivers who can't take advantage of drop and hook. Hours of Service Survey and Information

To those who change shower heads

When I read this the other day, my private thought was 'only 10 minutes?' I must have a whole lot more acreage than some of you. :o When I went into the Indy J today they have high volume showerheads. Horrible, give me back the flow restriction. To me a shower is usually relaxing. This was...

Thanks for the information, Linda. I've found some drivers don't even know that there are proposed new rules.

It was good to get a chance to talk to you again, shrek120. I was impressed that you took the time to let Big Red's new drivers know what to expect from the truck. There are plenty of people who wouldn't have been as helpful in the same situation. Good luck with the new co-driver.

    Hours-of-Service Proposed Rulemaking

I've got a question for teams about the 34 hour restart and don't know if I can ask it so it makes sense. Can one driver start their 34 hour break while the other driver is driving? That way a team could now do a 34 with the truck only parked for 24 of the hours. I want to make one of my...

Let's do which truck are you in for dummies. I don't know any of the truck numbers, just colors. :o I have the girly KW. Pre-planned loads are rare in expedite because it's hard to plan an emergency. :D When asked what kind of freight we haul my answer is always, "anything that was needed...

I certainly hope you know that I'm kidding. I think that we Nuts (some call us Boltheads) are able to get our questions answered fairly easily, so that eliminates the need for some posts. How is it going for you? Which one of John's trucks are you in?

can 2 straight trucks run 1 semi load

I met one of my best friends when we were dispatched by different carriers to share one load from Washington state to Texas. I agree that the 30 minute break is the head shaker for me. What could be 3 necessary bathroom breaks need to be taken at one time or we'll be penalized? During the listening sessions they said that they heard the drivers asking for flexibility, well it seems we can see how well they listened.

    Power Landing Gear

It was on the truck when I bought it, but I've had to replace the motor twice. It's a Roll-Rite tarp motor. An advantage I saw with the Patriot Lift was the ability to bypass the system and manually crank the gear down. With mine, when the motor is out it is necessary to remove it and then...

    Power Landing Gear

Greg, I agree that I shouldn't need to replace the electric motor after upgrading the grease. I get frequent questions from drivers who see my setup and wanted to post another option for those who are looking to make changes.
