    Mileage for a solo

I would guess 1500-2000 miles per week. Depends on how much home time you need.

    Flat rate???

I talked to a friend today that recently took delivery on a new TVAL truck. He kept saying, "We're next, how will I ever make my truck payment?" There will be no new trucks in my future.

    Flat rate???

It sounds to me like you did your math right. In our straight truck we are planning to lose about 10 cents per mile.

    Flat rate???

Does anyone know how this new flat rate compares to our competitors that are also on flat rate?

    Carriers race to the bottom

It could be a case of mid level managers trying to impress senior management. "Hey boss, look what I did".

    Flat rate???

He doesn't need an App. Just look for the nose prints on the window.

    Flat rate???

I wonder what dispatch will use to "entice us" to take a load that we have declined? We are only motivated by enough money to profitably run the load and return to an active freight area. No negotiations will tie the hands of the dispatchers. I understand a lot of contractors were asking for...

    Flat rate???

There is a minimum rate all miles that I need to operate my truck. When we did flat rate a few years ago we were paid $1.00 per mile plus FSC for all dispatched miles. DHPU, loaded and DHPL all paid the same. We discovered that it was not enough to maintain and operate our truck and earn a...

    Flat rate???

It looks like we will have to keep our deadhead down to about 18% or less and really watch where we go. No freight dead zones. No long deadhead to pick up. A nickel more for WG? I am envisioning my acceptance rate going down. We sure will miss getting that really good paying run once in awhile...

Anyone using Straight Talk for a cell phone? I am trying it out this month and it seems to work very well everywhere except Kentucky on I65.

    DHPL Pay taken away

I understand not getting paid if you don't go. But if you don't go DHPL should not be included in the load opp.

    DHPL Pay taken away

If I had know that the DHPL would be deducted after running the load I would not have agreed to do it or asked for more money. When talking with dispatch about this load I mapped it on my computer. I calculated from my home to pick up to delivery and gave them a total dollar amount I was...

    DHPL Pay taken away

It cost me $160 to learn something new today. Three weeks ago I delivered on a Saturday in Mayport, FL. I was given a planned layover of Atlanta. Since it was the weekend and I only live 100 miles away I went home and out of service for a week. Once back in service at home I received a load...
