    Best Fast Food Salad

Maybe it's just me, but veggies at Subway don't taste like they are real. It boggles my mind how a place with such an unappealing name [who would enjoy eating in a subway?!] and mostly lunchmeat & tasteless veggies can have a location on every freaking corner [plus the ones in WalMarts...

    Best Fast Food Salad

My favorite was Wendy's BLT Cobb - I don't know why it's the only one they took off the menu, but I get the BBQ chicken now, and it's not as good, IMO. I should say: it's good, but I don't like it as much. Salads are good to make yourself, and if you make a couple at once, [put in plastic...

Is it slow all over ???

There may be some who "don't know any better", but I can't believe it's a lot. Their thinking is that they have docks for loading/unloading, why take risks using a forklift without the dock? The risk of damaging the freight or the people is much higher outside the dock, as Turtle can attest...

Baltimore Rioting, Looting OK According to Mayor

Speaking of throwing bricks, I found this story very interesting. Particularly the mention of "Police announced shortly before noon that they had a credible threat" [about gangs intending to hurt people]. They don't say which gangs, but there's a photo out there showing a Crip with his arm...

    The Worst Road Contest...

Don't believe I've ever seen a worse stretch than Pennsylvania, [Metro Detroit], east of 275. Or Eureka, which bounced my microwave off the floor [at half the speed limit]! It's been resurfaced, wonder how long it'll stay nice - I don't think Michigan uses good quality materials on road...

    Wondering

I can't remember gas prices [never had to pay for it, lol], but I remember green stamps, snow on the B&W TV [in spite of the rabbit ears], banks that gave you stuff like small appliances for opening an account [with $5.00, lol], and having just one phone, with a curly cord that was 75 ft long...

Can you link that tutorial for me, please? I probably won't do the install, [no one who knows me would agree to it, lol] but I can't stand not having one, it feels claustrophobic.

Maybe it's the only way they can earn a living, reputable carriers won't take them [for whatever reason], and they need to work, got bills to pay. Contrary to popular wisdom, being poor/broke/unemployed is no picnic, and people will do whatever they can [or have to] to avoid it. You don't...

OMG I shoulda slept in the van!

Thanks for the heads up - I don't 'follow' sports events [can one call golf a sport?] and didn't know about Augusta. So when is the Masters, anyway? Never mind - just noticed the 'April', lol.

Baltimore Rioting, Looting OK According to Mayor

First, the "traditional" concept of marriage is a relatively recent concept. Marriage was traditionally arranged to form and strengthen ties between groups [clans, countries, dynasties], and love had zero to do with it. Women were viewed as breeding stock - how "cherished" did that make the...

Stores do it already, with RFDs that 'read' your cellphone....I have a real antipathy for what advertising has become, as opposed to it's original function: to inform. The less people like it, the more intrusive [and distracting] it becomes. But then, I'm old enough to remember watching a 30...

If you want an illustration for "great service", WalMart doesn't even make the top 100 list. Low prices, absolutely [though they don't stay low, if you notice], but you get what you pay for. At WalMart and in expedited delivery.

    Wondering

I keep expecting advertisers to invest in license plate reader technology, so their billboards can target specific vehicles passing by. Like "Hey, Joe Blow: you need some brighter fog lights, and we got 'em! On sale!!" It's only science fiction till it happens, eh?

    About time WI catches up!

Didn't forgot, Bush has nowhere near the money & power of the Koch Bros, much less the influence. Hard to believe, but not every little thing is/was his fault, lol. ;)

OMG I shoulda slept in the van!

There's a good argument for avoiding touristy places: if you need a motel, it's a nightmare! The room that cost me $75/day in WV costs $275 in Myrtle Beach, for exactly the same 'amenities'! [Well, except for the beach, lol] Actually, the room rate was far less in WV, but like a lot of places...

Because it would be a fatal error to go against popular opinion, in such a PC dominated field?

Baltimore Rioting, Looting OK According to Mayor

What you [personally and generically] "imagine", rather than troubling to learn facts, is largely responsible for the rage expressed in rioting. You know exactly nothing about whether any one of the people you see have experienced abuse, injustice, degradation, etc, but you have no problem...

    Evil Swiss Army Knives

Good thing the Canadian Border guards didn't buy the story about cutting Swedish pizza, and took Moot's away, lol. He might have to tear the pizza instead, but we're all safer for it.

    School lunches

Except that where the argument "they just don't want to accept responsibility" is used to explain behaviors one can't know the reasons for, [like unemployment], in this case, the food preparers are failing to do the specific job they're paid for knowing how to do. Maybe the unappetizing stuff...
