    2011 stats, maybe higher now

A lot of professionals are licensed by the state, and when they apply for a license in another state, the specific Board in charge does a background check, to ensure the license is valid, so I don't think so.

Which Expediter Will Be the First to Use Driver Cams?

Of course, it does serve to keep the conversation focused on what the drivers are doing, instead of what could be done to address the actual causes of most accidents: the ignorance of 4 wheel drivers. I mean that literally, as most simply don't know - others just don't care, because they don't...

Which Expediter Will Be the First to Use Driver Cams?

Putting nanny cams in trucks is even less defensible than the time clocks, IMO.

Relentlessly [and of course, anonymously] stupid

The original story didn't include any info on Ms Rainbow Lady except that she's a widowed mother of four, so I took her Gofundme as a swipe at Christians, more than anything else. As someone who would have put those lights in my own garden, I didn't see it as support for the 'LGBT community'...

How do I get Hired in NY

First things first: start by reading the FAQ at the top of the Newbies Forum. That will give you some idea of which questions you need to ask. Cheers! :bookworm:

    Welfare reform

I can't account for the difference in Maine - except, being one of the states that declined Title V funding, they are free to add teaching about contraceptives. Maybe the rate of parents opting their kids out of sex ed is nonexistent.

    Welfare reform

It's frustrating, because each state can "stress abstinence", but include information on contraceptives, [but ONLY if they decline Title V funding]. Also, nearly every state allows parents to 'opt out' of sex ed, and none of the states provide numbers on how many do. Pretty much the defining...

    Welfare reform

I'm gonna save the Planned Parenthood debate for another time, but I believe you're wrong about it. On sex education, it's a prerogative of each state to choose the version of education presented. 25 states require abstinence be stressed: AL, AR, AZ, DE,FL, GA, IL, LA, ME, MI, MS, MO, NJ, NC...

Relentlessly [and of course, anonymously] stupid

Raising money by "gaming" people is smart? I think it's dishonest and immoral, and that's what I taught my kids. I bet this lady discovers lots of others don't like being lied to, either.

Relentlessly [and of course, anonymously] stupid

That's funny: I never even noticed the random capitalization of words - been hanging out where it's so common, it doesn't even stand out any more. I should have checked it out on Snopes, [I usually do], because I hate dishonesty, and that's what it is. I wonder what her 4 kids think of her now?

    The Trump Card...

"Thin skinned" and "holds grudges" are automatic disqualifiers for a POTUS, [in case that gawdawful hair wasn't enough!]

    The Trump Card...

The first two questions were reasonable. The rest of the post wasn't, until you've heard the reply.

http://www.newnownext.com/christian-neighbor-flips-out-over-womans-relentlessly-gay-yard-decoration/06/2015/?xrs=synd_facebook_logo Check out the Gofundme link - the widowed mother of 4 who received the note hoped for $5000 to add more rainbow whimsy to her yard - it's past $42,000 already. :p

    The Duggars

How would you know? And what about buying [anything] from someone who is just having a very bad day, and decides to take it out on you? People need to do the job without injecting their personal feelings into it, or find another job, IMO.

    The Duggars

As do anti obscenity laws, which prevent a cake decorator from putting certain messages on a cake. The difference is that religious beliefs are not the same as "community standards". If one argues that they are, or should be, we're back to the question of which religion? Whose beliefs? What...

    Welfare reform

I recently read a comparison between Wisconsin and Minnesota, that had an interesting aspect on the union situation. It said numerous companies are moving from Wi to Mn, because the unions do a better job of training workers. It will be interesting to see the effect [of weakening unions] on...

    Welfare reform

Nope. to the best of my knowledge federal money does not pay for abortions. Conservatives have changed their minds about granting access to contraceptives, and are now proud of defunding Planned Parenthood And closing clinics with ridiculous requirements that do nothing to improve 'safety' for...

    Welcome to Wal-Mart

I gotta say that ":censoredsign:" [and derivatives and declensions] are words I'm not much fond of, but in context, Mike's usage was hilarious. <thumbup> I'll try to keep the asterisk sprinkling to a minimum, but sometimes, there just aint no other words that work as well. ;)

    Welfare reform

An excellent start to reducing the number of children on welfare would be to increase access for low income women to contraception, but Rick Perry bragged about defunding Planned Parenthood in Texas, so good luck with that. It's also helpful to teach teens about sex and how to not have babies...

    Welfare reform

That is flat out wrong. Please reread my exact words, in the first post - I have never said it doesn't exist. There are some, but not in numbers enough to warrant policies that harm others. And yet, some people will mention them as a justification for such policies, guaranteed, every time the...
