    Birthday! Happy Birthday Lawrence!

Happy Birthday to ELMO! That's LM in the middle of EO. Which should be LM at the beginning of EO, but LMEO sounds like 'laughing my ears off' and that's just not very funny. So, it's stuck in the middle: clowns to the left, and well, you know the rest. :jester:

    CDL Medical Experience December 2015

When's the last time you had YOUR vision checked?! On a related note, I read that prior to 1998, the official cutoff (for overweight) BMI was 27.8. It was dropped to 25 on the recommendation of a Task Force, chaired by Xavier Pi-Sunyer, a professor at Columbia University. He was also a paid...

It's a Team's Life Interesting Place to Eat The Big Texan

Too far? That's unAmerican, lol. The US is a place that doesn't think 200 miles is a long distance, [while the UK is a place that doesn't think 200 years is a long time]. :D

    CDL Medical Experience December 2015

TS: my experience was different. I had the usual hearing test [forced whisper], and no BMI measurements at all. The participating medics were required to learn the parameters, and while I didn't view the DVD of actual regulations, what I read of them indicates that at least some of it is...

    Stand-by

We can be a Christian nation, or we can have freedom of religion, where no religion is preferred over another - pick one. If evil happens because we "threw God out of the schools/government/families" whatever, then it must have been wonderful before that happened: no children ever died, nobody...

    A responsible gun owner......Not!

According to criminologist Grant Duwe, the mass murders of the 1020's & 30's are mostly familial, or committed during another felony crime. Again: they weren't committed by someone looking to kill strangers because they felt like killing people. And they certainly weren't killing schoolchildren...

    A responsible gun owner......Not!

I don't know much about the killers in the Columbine, Sandy Hook, & other tragedies, mainly because I figure there's no explaining why a mentally ill person does what he does - it is literally senseless. In Colorado Springs, though, residents describe a local culture of fiercely defending their...

    Garmin Nuvi

Rather than change the settings on the Nuvi [for the time zone], I got a $5.00 stick on that doesn't change with the zones, so I can see when I cross the lines. Because sometimes, I'll be so involved in my audiobook [Game of Thrones!] I don't even notice that it's an hour earlier than it was a...

    Good Eats Minestrone soup

Flatbed? Last time I saw him, [a few years ago at the Expo], he was driving a t/t, with an adorable stuffed moose on the dash. But from what I've seen of him on Facebook, he isn't driving at all anymore. I miss him, too.

    Stand up people

I'm amazed that George would let even you make such a mess in his shop, lol.

    A responsible gun owner......Not!

Can you cite or link something on that? All I can find goes the other way: reclassifying felonies to misdemeanors, post conviction.

    A responsible gun owner......Not!

We've already got the death penalty, how much more severe does it get? Shall we kill them twice?

    A responsible gun owner......Not!

Yes, and your link proves it. Until 1966, every single school/student related shooting [with one exception] was a personal matter between the individuals involved. The exception was a 70 year old man who caused minor injuries, shooting at a playground full of children. In August of 1966...

    The Trump Card...

Substance?! Demanding investigations of Planned Parenthood based on widely debunked 'gotcha!' videos? In states that don't even have fetal tissue donation programs? After numerous other states have already investigated and found nothing? Ditto on drug testing welfare applicants: numerous states...

    A responsible gun owner......Not!

No, but that could be because the provenance of the weapon is rarely mentioned, except in high profile mass shootings, like Columbine. You have to wonder: if the Founding Fathers could have imagined events like Columbine, Sandy Hook, et al, would they have changed anything they wrote?

    A responsible gun owner......Not!

I wouldn't say we should eliminate all private gun sales, but the friends and family provision seems a pretty easy way for someone who wouldn't pass a background check to buy a weapon. And I've never read of anyone being prosecuted for it, either.

    The Thrill is Gone

I've seen BB, Clapton, Jimmy [and Stevie Ray] Vaughan, and Buddy Guy live - and I can't speak for the rest, but Buddy Guy is definitely not riffraff, lol. Nice clip!

    The Trump Card...

For every one person who succeeds coming from 'the ghetto', hundreds don't. If it were "doable", there'd be a lot more success stories. You [like me] are old enough to have grown up when a job was something different, entailing security. People worked hard, and companies rewarded that - they...

    Syrian refugees

Your comment implied that expecting someone else to pick up the tab is a liberal trait, but the most flagrant example of that behavior is the major league stadiums - hardly a bastion of liberals.

    A responsible gun owner......Not!

So the prohibition is worthless, because who can prove what you did or didn't 'doubt'? When you talk about enforcing the laws we have, how many are unenforceable, like this one?
