    Planned Parenthood's Problem vs. Capitalism

Do the numbers say it's easier, or that the need is greater? I haven't read anything to indicate that the former is true. The change in work requirements, which had been tightened as part of 'welfare reform', was at the request of state governors, who wanted flexibility in view of unemployment...

    GPS nuvi problem

Ok, I guess I need to dig out the correct USB cord for connecting it to the 'puter. My one experience with updating the maps was horrendous: took hours, and ran into data over charges, so I haven't done it again. What it's doing now is something it's done before, but it fixed itself. I've had...

    Boehner resigns as Speaker

I already know I don't care for ESPN or the PBA. I'd rather have surgery with a butter knife than go bowling, lol, and watching it is even worse. :vomit:

    Planned Parenthood's Problem vs. Capitalism

What on earth ever gave you the impression that I could answer that? I don't speak math! If the answer was 12%, I'd accept it. Ditto with 27%, 38% - I truly have no idea. Nor do I see where it matters when the premise is that benefits are easy to get or not so easy to get. Both of which speak...

    Planned Parenthood's Problem vs. Capitalism

That Obamacare is primarily a gift to the insurance and drug companies is why I never supported it, and don't have insurance still. Insurance and drug companies don't deserve to be rewarded, they're a large part of why people can't afford medical care to begin with. Like the Turing CEO, they...

    The Trump Card...

That's like saying the groundhog is pulling ahead of the duck, at the Kentucky Derby. Neither has any business even being in the race. That's like saying the porcupine is pulling ahead of the squirrel - at the Kentucky Derby.

    GPS nuvi problem

I can see where 'elevation' might be desired for those who carry their GPS while hiking, [I love when I put 'Lowe's in the search, find one 1 mile away, select, and it asks Driving? or Walking?] but it just doesn't seem to be a more popular choice than miles to destination, or time to...

    Pope and change.

Nope, they're all adults. Allegedly. :JC-hysterical:

    GPS nuvi problem

Landing gear does not a plane make. And anyway, isn't that what an altimeter is for? [Not a pilot here!]:smiley_driving:

    Boehner resigns as Speaker

I'd never heard of it before [thanks!] but it does seem a good possibility, if the man cries as much as claimed. It's pretty clearly something he wouldn't want generally known, as well, due to the assumptions of mental defects that would arise.

    Boehner resigns as Speaker

A mind is a terrible thing to waste: Google PBA and learn something.

    Driver weather alert for SC

After what I read today, I'd stay out of SC altogether for the time being. Over 500 road closures, numerous flooded roads, and the promise of more to come, as rivers continue to top flood stage, and will for probably another week yet.

    GPS nuvi problem

Soft reset done, map data reloaded, no change, sigh. [Can't be sure about the speedometer, it's correct at 0, lol] still getting just 3 options for the bottom corner fields. [Why 'elevation' is a desired option for a vehicle is beyond me]

    Planned Parenthood's Problem vs. Capitalism

Granted, my experience with benefits is limited to unemployment, but even that, which is earned, has so many strict rules and conditions that I find it very hard to believe that benefits that aren't earned would be easy to get. Especially with state and federal governments [who split the...

    GPS nuvi problem

Has anyone else had a problem with their Garmin Nuvi [mine is a 2555] randomly displaying a frozen speedometer & miles to next turn, and both the bottom corner options limited to 3 choices: direction of travel, time of day, elevation? I want to choose time for the left one, but I want 'miles to...

    Planned Parenthood's Problem vs. Capitalism

On evolution, you are correct. I wasn't thinking evolution, though, in the context of abusing the government, I was thinking of the structures of law, the Constitution, things designed to prevent the strong from abusing the weak[er] in a civil society. The things we use to moderate the law of...

    Driver weather alert for SC

I 95 is shut down between 20 & 26, due to flooding. Also, parts of 77 are underwater - if your route takes you into the state, check the conditions before you go.
