    E Rumble Strips

This sounds like an excellent safety device. I wonder if having one installed might lower insurance rates?

    Panther trucks and job count

Dave said: "As mentioned, they have made some great improvements in key areas, however the business and economic conditions are changing faster than they are reacting in some instances. They need to work and administrate a much better relocation program, followed by a reallocation of personell...

    Public Apology

How refreshing to read a post regarding a bad experience that is well written, without name calling and admittedly that problems are sometimes the fault of both the owner and driver. Janet, I would think that any owner would appreciate the professionalism you have shown in your post. Best of Luck

An Economic and Trucking Slowdown is Happening Now

RE: An Economic and Trucking Slowdown is Happening Seems to me, if things are slow, you tighten your belt a little. Slow down, watch your pennies, and run. I know I'm going to get hit for this, but although no one wants to run the "cheap freight" as long the run covers your expenses and still...

Class 8 owners how's your mileage?

If we keep the speed to about 61-63mph we are getting about 8 mpg. If we bump the speed up to 70 in those higher speed limit states, the fuel mileage drops to around 6 mpg

    Fog

Yeah, those stop and go runs make no sense to me. How can that possibly be "safer"?

    Fog

Poison? Of course I was typing and driving while battling the fog How's that for multitasking? :+ Seriously, no, we were on a Gov run that had no safe haven at either end, so it was drive a while, stop a while.

    Fog

Tonight I'm driving I-88 in NY and it's foggy as heck! I'm slowed down to about 40mph with 4 ways on because it's soupy enough that a about a 1 1/2 truck lengths is all I can comfortably see. All of a sudden I see headlights pop out of the fog behind me, and it turns out to be 5 super truckers...

    Would you buy a ticket?

I didn't ask my question correctly, and I'm not sure how to word it. LOL When you say "APU" do you mean the type that would be used on a truck? If so, then would the neighbor down the street (that isn't a driver) be interested in something like that? I'm still not sure I worded this right.

    Load Lock Bar Question

India, those are load bars that are used in tractor/trailer vans. I don't know if you have a reefer box or not, but I wouldn't use them in a reefer box. When used correctly, they will expand the sides of the trailer in order to have enough pressure to hold the load. We used them when we were...
