Idling vs. shut down and restart?

Leo you have chosen the place to get your Pro-Heat wisely.Bentz does a first class job,and they stand behind their work.I have read some real horrow stories about gen sets on OOIDA forums.Poor service, lack of parts, etc. I choose to go the route of large inverter, shore power, and a Fantastic roof...

    Freight lanes?

In the early days of expediting I75 was known as "Auto Alley"due to most of the auto suppliers being lined up and down this highway to supply the plants in Detroit.Today its a whole different story.Except for a few companys that regard certian routes for their own "Freight Lanes",They are all...

Be careful what you ask for

Those west coast runs usally allways turn out this way. Some times you can work up and down the Pacific Ocean until you get homesick then DH back across the Mississippi. By the way I wouldnt work for anyone that expected me to run illeagl in this way.If there was a accident, the lawyers would have...

need help finding someone to drive for

First off I would do something about that handle.Good expediting companys would probably shy away from a "Hot Dog".Second I would look at the oppertunitys in the EO classifieds, and adds.

    Truckers Helper Software Package

Wherever the software calls for Hub mileage just use your odomerer reading. Hub reading means a odometer that is attached to the axle of a big truck. Dont know why mileage would be needed on every toll ticket. Seems like begining and ending at each state line would be enough.A call to OOIDA...

    Upgrade to "C'

RE: Upgrade to The E350 was the mainstay of the "C" fleet. The last time I checked, they can no longer be spec'd to run as a "C"(at least with FECC).I would Check out Freightliner M2,or International.

    MBE 900 Engine - MPG?

I get 11 mpg on a MBE 900 260. Tranny is 6 spd manual. Those numbers sound like salesman talk.Especially with a auto trammy. It might be possible if you are on a straight run, holding it right on 55mph. I have achevied 13 mpg under these conditions.

    Team Van or Straight Truck?

I agree that a straight truck would be a better choice for a team. When ever we reach a layover (Express Center) there are allways a few vans waiting for dispatch. There are always fewer trucks. Therefore there seems to be a glut of vans. Why not consider a "C" size. This is the most requested size...
