The reply I received from Safety says: It applies to over dimensional freight and non-divisible freight, not to us. The map that Phil refers to, also says 35 ft truck length. The atlas says 40ft Still confused

We finally bought a stand alone GPS and went with the TND 500. So far, it's fine EXCEPT it goes bananas near NYC. Did you know that the GW bridge isn't authorized for a 13'6'' truck? LOL

Ok, we've been in an out of NYC for as long as we've been expediting in a straight truck and have NEVER been stopped. Are we on borrowed time? I will be contacting our carrier to see what they say.

Congratulations! Hubby and I also grew up in the Orlando area, and have a son down in Naples. Although personally we wouldn't like to live down there anymore, I can see the appeal to the FL winters :)

Many times, in a straight truck, we can not get to some of the interesting places that we would like to see. Also, we've seen things that we would have liked to have stopped at, but there was just no time. That being said, we will make a note of it, and we plan to return as a "tourist" at some...

I understand Greg, while not with FedEx, we, as Panther drivers, have the option of 30 minutes "off duty driving" as long as we are not on a Pro. Granted, if we were not on electronic logs, we wouldn't have that arbitrary "30 min". I don't know where that comes from, but never the less, it is...

We use Drivers Daily Log to keep track of our days out. I use the QC logs, and put in the exact times into drivers daily and then I can print our our exact time out for home time.
