    Seal on truck

Re: Special Seal RE: Seal on truck I've had seals that were to be cut under NO circumstance. I've also had seals handed to me. Probably just a technicality as no one seemed to interested in whether it was on the truck or not. It was simply listed on the bol.

    Detroit Series 60 ?

Definitely take it to a Detroit service center, and NOT a Volvo delaer in this case. Call and talk to a technician before you even drive it there. The ECM will tell if it has ever overheated. All make sure they can dyno the snot out of it for you.

    The Puppy Project

I have a full bred Shih Tzu that rides sometimes. He's full grown at 15 pounds. I suggest finding a good breeder. Choose the dog and don't let the puppy choose you. (Those are generally more dominant.) Our puppy had a litter sister who was totally a yapper, and ours wasn't. He still isn't...

How do I see Panthers' available loads?

So how many minutes does a contractor have to accept or decline a load? 15? In my world, the day is won or lost in 90 SECONDS! I can pee, calculate, and talk on the phone at the same time if I must. Twice I've lost a Panther run to the same driver. One was coming out of Hialeah, Florida...

How do I see Panthers' available loads?

BTW, if it happens at Panther, you are not alone. If something gets offered to someone ouside or inside that theoretically should have been offered to you, it happen at Tri-State, the Fed, Landstar and everywhere else.

How do I see Panthers' available loads?

Leo, I'm sure it does happen, because nothing is perfect in this world. But here's the question: There's a 500 mile up for grabs tomorrow morning. Let's say it would cost them $725 to your truck for you to do it. A partner carrier offers them $950 to do it. Now why wouldn't they want to...

    Breaking news in central FL

I guess I've been pondering whether the parents should be inverstigated as to whether they have been accessories to the murder. Or the silence of Caycee a cover up for a crime commited by HER parents. In other words, someone is covering for someone. Which way is it?

    Breaking news in central FL

Is it just me, or did the parents seem to be parading around "OJ style" trying to find the "real killer" all along, until they got the dna tests back that that was indeed hair from a dead Caylee Anthony found in the trunk of her car. So who was keeping their mouth shut about who killed the...

How do I see Panthers' available loads?

Now I would have no way of knowing if some loads were never offered to a contractor or not, but I do know this: They do use at times a thing called POWERSEARCH, which means that they offer it in house and to the "out-house" folks at the same time, usually because of the short time by which they...

    PC Miler 430 GPS

Aww, come on! Why a compass in the mirror, when you can get one of the compass balls at Wal-Mart that stick to your windshield. I actually recently bought a Mio550 Travel Companion. It's a full-fledged PDA that has a built-in GPS receiver and comes with a halfway decent software package. I...

An Ordinary Recession This is Not

I don't think they ever did it to lower the price of cars. Two reasons that do come to mind are: 1. UAW 2. Higher profits for them. As long as the automotive market does not require them to offer a less expensive car to be competitive, I guarantee that there will not be one.

An Ordinary Recession This is Not

Hey Phil. Good topic. It was nice to finally meet you in VA. Sorry it was only for two minutes at the fuel island. Maybe next time.

An Ordinary Recession This is Not

Unfortunately I believe you are correct. No specific amount, no specific terms, no business plan, and no sacrifice on the part of the leaders. Add these up and you have no real results.

    Houston, TX Layover

Man, I was just at the Richie Road J last week. Nothing quiet there these days. When I started hearing truckload guys having trouble getting a load out, I should've known it was going to be bad. Houston is overrun right now, most likely with inbound freight to repair Houston and the...

Good for you. I searched a long time for my 80 x 56 Maxon. If there was anything considerably bigger, I would have put it on my truck.

It's The End Of The World

You are correct. NLM(I) is a very intensive customer for Panther. In fact, they require providers on that level of service to give them attention 24/7. Unfortunately, about eight hours of my day are spent studying the inside of my eyes lids, not bid boards. So I'll leave that to the fat...

    Time to take action...

Nah. Who didn't see that these guys were in trouble before the financial meltdown? To me it seems that they are now just using that as an excuse to try and get a deal from the govt. Do we really need another ungrateful AIG to pour money down while they are sending their people to expensive...

    Time to take action...

Companies as big as an auto maker don't usually just go out of business. As long as there is a product, someone will want an opportunity to rebuild the reputation of that company. It will just get worked out in the market, like Chase buying up WaMu. Two hours and the deal was done. But none...

    Time to take action...

By the way, the last two automotive loads I moved were over three months ago, and these two back to back loads didn't involve any of the big three.

    Time to take action...

The only expedite carriers that are relying on auto freight these days are guys like Ontime and ASAP. I will refrain from posting my opinions on either of these two WONDERFUL:D and RESPECTABLE:D players within the industry. I really feel as though it's time for the auto industry to reorganize...
